    wonder why some countries are still having reservations about security during ASEAN summit? because they don't feel that we are capable of handling it. would they have the same reservations, that led to the postponement of the summit, if it were to be held in, say, singapore or malaysia? I think not. we've shown the capability to build world-class infrastructures to move our economy at par with the developed countries but it seemed that we don't know how to build the peace and order system for support. most people still don't rely on the present law enforcement system as shown by their partiality to the vigilantes. and some officials are even inspiring it. if we can't even trust our own law enforcement (coz they're really sloppy), then it would be easy to understand the foreigners' reservations. why not spend substantial amount for things that really matter, like a world-class law enforcement system.
    police, polis, pulis, polizie, carabiniers. it's what we need, whose slogan is;
    "To serve and protect."
    and not;
    "I know what you did last summer!"
