In a separate interview, Air Force chief Lt. Gen. Oscar Rabena said the arrival of 8 brand new combat utility helicopters (Sokol)can be expected before end-December.

He said the “choppers” are designed for all-weather operations, can transport troops or evacuate casualties, or assault enemy positions.

I thought gi cancel ni ang Sokol ni Abnoy.

I believe ang na cancel was the attack helicopter contract. The Air Force was studying the armed variant of the Sokol versus Used Israeli Cobras. The Cobras with "supposed" upgraded israeli avionics would be a dream come true for the PAF. The Sokols that would be arriving end of the year are the Utility Variant, i think.

T/A 50 golden eagle is my best choice. Small, deadly and fast. mach 1.4 w/o after burner. Pareha pud og porma sa F-5 fleet nato before. For attack choppers mas favor ko sa cobra. We don't need apache helecopter, ang apache gi design na as tank killers. Overkill ra kau and ma out budget ang pilipinas ana.

iran is not producing airplanes, they are just modifying there old fleet. upgrading it and renaming anew.

tama ka.. but they are also having an initiative na magbuhat ug sarili
nilang drones just to make their own borders protected against foreign intrusions.

and about sa cost of research i think kaya man siguro na sa mga genius
na pinoy ba.. ang iran baya di pud bya na datu kaayo nga arab country sukad nga daghan na mga countries nga nag ban sa ila mag business transactions para makabuhat ug mga expensive research benefits and yet they are able to produce their own military fleet and drones aside from their brave soldiers who are willing to die for their country.

sa ako lang ni point of view ha. I think wala pa jud pinoy hantud run na willing mu take ug risks for a change na muasenso ato armed forces especially sa air force nato.. Gamit jud bya unta nang mga modern aircrafts not only in times of conflict.. but also saving people that are victims in natural and man-made calamities..
