Di man sad kwangol ang mga mo check in sa hotel kung walay kargada na tawagon nato ug DINERO . Natural , turista gani ka sa Pilipinas maka afford ka . Dili na sa daghan mo check in or gamay , sa season na or whatever is the event at that time . Example ha ... EMBASSY SUITES is walking distance to the THOMAS and MACK CENTER . They normally charge you $ 80 to $ 150 a night on a regular basis as a SUITE . Karon kay naa may PACMAN MORALES III sa iskina lang .... na triple bitaw na siya papart DAWN RUNNER .... 100% occupancy man lage gihapon .

Law of opportunism na.

Australian foreign minister to attend ASEAN Summit

CANBERRA, Australia -- Australia's foreign minister said Friday we will attend an Asian trade summit in the central Philippines next week despite his own department warning that terrorists were planning attack.

Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said he would spend the weekend in Cebu province to attend the second meeting of the East Asia Summit.

"Australia's involvement as a founding member is testament to the depth of our bilateral and regional ties," Downer said in a statement.

His Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade on Thursday upgraded its warning for Cebu to the highest level on a scale of five.

"We strongly advise you not to travel to Cebu province," the department said in its Web site travel advisory.

"Recent information suggests terrorists are in the final stages of planning attacks," the Web site said.

After the Philippines, Downer plans to visit the United States, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United Kingdom before returning home on December 21.

Storm ‘Seniang’ strengthens, poses threat to ASEAN Summit

TROPICAL storm "Seniang" (international codename: Utor) strengthened as it moved closer to the central Philippines, including Cebu province where the 12th Association of Southeast Asian (ASEAN) Summit will be held, the state weather bureau said.

At the same time, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) raised public storm signal number 1 (30-60 kph winds) over Samar and Leyte provinces in the Visayas, and Surigao del Norte province and Siargao and Dinagat islands in Mindanao.

Seniang, which packs maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 90 kph, was spotted 780 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar at 4:45 a.m. Friday, the PAGASA said in a bulletin.

The storm is the 19th to hit the country this year, coming on the heels of supertyphoon "Reming" (international codename: Durian), which ravaged the Bicol and Southern Luzon regions last week, leaving over 1,000 people dead or missing and thousands others homeless.

Seniang is expected to make landfall in Eastern Samar on Sunday. It is not expected to pass through areas ravaged by "Reming," PAGASA said.

"If the [storm's] track line does not change, [it will hit] Samar, Leyte, northern Cebu, northern Negros, and Panay before exiting to the South China Sea," PAGASA weather branch chief Nathaniel Cruz said in a television interview.

Protesters, not terrorists, are the threats, say cops

CEBU CITY -- Demonstrators, not terrorists, are the “existing threat” to the coming 12th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit here, where up to 16 heads of state will converge next week for talks that include terrorism as tops on the agenda.

A ranking police officer in charge of summit security yesterday made this assertion as he joined other officials in shrugging off the travel warnings issued Wednesday by the United States, Britain, Australia and Japan on a supposed terrorist plot targeting Cebu province during the meetings.

In separate advisories, the four countries told their citizens to avoid travel to the province. British officials said they “believe that terrorists are in the final stages of planning attacks.”

Philippine security officials said they had not discovered any specific terror threats against the summit of the 10-member ASEAN, but that they were not discounting them.

“We have received information, but these are not validated threats,” military spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Bartolome Bacarro said.

“We are not discounting the possibility that some … threat groups would take advantage of the ASEAN Summit, but security forces … are all prepared and all contingencies have been taken into consideration,” he said.

The warnings came as senior officials of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Burma (Myanmar), the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand, comprising ASEAN, entered their second day of preliminary meetings leading to next week’s summit on Dec. 10-13.

sources close to me tells me that there is actually a sort of command center at the 1521 of SMC (that part close to the big San Mig bottle) on top of the complex. parabolics, tv's, high tech communication gadgets etc... I won't even discount the possibility of snipers stationed there given the vantage point of the location in case something goes awry during the summit.. who knows what else is there..
Shut Up! Let your GAME do the talking!

Looks as if over the last few hours, the "eye" of the storm has scattered somewhat, but it could just be reforming and intensifying.
I pray that it doesn't reform and the storm weakens.
God please leave us in peace, to mourn those already dead and to help rebuild lives.

if you haven't noticed, most, if not all, of the replies have stated (in one way or the other) that the law of supply and demand has got something to do with the price increase. even a kid in secondary school could easily appreciate and understand that simple concept. if you don't know anything about the law of suppy and demand, go and do your homework. come back when you fully understand it and then you can argue with people who obviously know what they're talking about.

if you don't know anything about the subject at hand, please save everyone the hassle by keeping your mouth shut. instead, open your ears and learn from them who know. the internet is oozing with information waiting for you to digest. i suggest you use that facility for for learning instead of imposing your own understanding and concepts to other people inspite of proven facts and laws.

you're right.. some are cheaper. but some are more expensive especially if the demand, or quality of services and facilities is greater.

Why at Shangrila? Because some like it better there and can afford it without complaining. Simple. If you can't afford a Benz, go for something lesser.

you're a bit too late for that. all the top hotels and resorts are fully booked! you're lucky if you get bookings during the SUMMIT season. the reason why most tourists go to expensive places is simply because they can afford it and they want to.

you got yourself mixed up there. just goes to show you do not understand.

hinay ang negosyo mao na nga barato. prior to the Asean Summit, hotel rates are lower during off-peak season to entice more guests and because there is lesser demand. the rates are jacked up when there is high demand. in example, the Asean Summit.

yes, the influx of guests during the summit is well anticipated. hence, the expensive hotel rates. why? because no matter how high the prices are, when one needs a commodity or service badly, they will pay anything to acquire what they want.

if you think the pricing is ridiculously high, report it to the proper agencies. but make sure you understand the concept of supply and demand before doing so. basi ma ulaw ta ba...
