Updates:

Billy Hunter said Tuesday that an antitrust complaint will be filed against the NBA later this evening in California.
Attorney David Boies says the case is based on a boycott of NBA teams, which is a violation of antitrust laws, and that the only question is whether the NBA has a potential labor exemption. In essence, David Stern's ultimatum attached to the last deal essentially ended negotiations. He also said the case was filed in Northern District of California because they have a history of moving quickly. The players are not asking for the lockout to be lifted, but for a summary judgment instead. More bad news for NBA fans, but Boies did add that he hopes this will never actually go to trial. If it does, the nuclear winter Stern hinted at on Monday will become a reality.

Jeffrey Kessler and David Boies (NFL lockout, Al Gore's recount) will represent the players in an antitrust lawsuit against the league, which is expected to be filed in the next couple days. The players obviously rejected the latest offer from the owners and instead of making a new offer, disbanded the union, refusing to accept an ultimatum from David Stern and company. We have no idea if or when a season will begin this year, but it's safe to say today's news couldn't have been much worse. The hope of the players now is to prove the owners were not negotiating in good faith and win a deal in a court room. There is a belief that the players would have accepted the deal if every player had a vote, but we'll never get to find out if that's true or not.

I've been hearing , a couple of big names maybe signing abroad na as opposed to waiting and thinking about it , Murag , there is little chance we have a season this year ( hope am wrong ) but it certainly looks that way na ... ie, Durant's name is floating to sign , any deal would include an out clause, and Durant is weighing offers from Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel, Valencia in Spain and BBC Bayreuth in Germany. Though he wants the players to reject the current offer, he also does not think that decertifying the union is a good idea.

Too bad our PBA can't afford these players , can u imagine Derek Rose , Durant , and Kobe playing regularly at the Cuneta hehehe ... I'd fly to Manila to see a couple of games
