Not if your going to use politicians as evidence that they are to be taken seriously? We constantly see promises used by candidates running for office, only to be broken when they are in office. I guess it's acceptable.
Don't count on promises. The person who broke the promise can always respond with tired excuses like: It was a different situation at that time.  I changed.  You changed.  People change. You promised me that you would.....or wouldn't.
and the list goes on....
I promise it does....heheh.

its never a good sign if you need to promise anything
depende na sa tao.
ako, i make sure when i make a promise ako jud na tumanon. mao nga careful kaayo ko in using the word "promise". kung naa mo promise naku and they don't keep it, maglagot ko, mahiubos dayon ko.
