To me Marquez hasn't improved, that's how he fought before in the last two fights (with the exception of the 1st round of the 1st fight). You have to note that he is (one of) the best counter-puncher(s) today. He looked good in the ring, but only relative to who Pacquiao has fought recently. Pacquiao has been demolishing people lately, and JMM has shown that you can hinder Pacquiao's relentless combinations with very good counter-punching. So I can't say JMM improved in his recent fight, but he did do a good job of sticking to his style which is something that Manny has not faced as of recent.
