that is actually the unwritten rule in boxing. if you are the challenger, you definitely have to be aggressor to prove that you deserve the win. never in the history of professional boxing specially in big fights has the challenger been awarded for not being aggressive. even if your style is a counter puncher like Marquez, you still gotta show that you really wanna win and that you deserve to win by attacking and beating the hell out of your opponent. Clearly, Marquez did not show that last fight. He acted like he was the champion and Pacman was the challenger. I think he was just scared that he will get knocked out again in early rounds just like what happened to their previous fights. Trauma so to speak.
Marquez keeps on asking the same question since the result of their 2nd fight. "what do i need to do to change the judges mind?", stupid question if you asked me. the answer is really simple. ATTACK or go for TKO. either way, he wasnt able to do that. thus the result of the scorecards. people tend to complicate things. watch more boxing fights guys not just those with Pacquiao in it.
