nabalik baya to gamay ang nba cards mid-2000's kay nagtukod man tog store didto sa ayala [atubangan anang levi's store karun sa lower ground floor]. namaligya pud to sila ug other nba stuff. napukaw akong hilig ato kadali- kutob ra sa pagkita nako sa presyo... mahalaaaaa..

siguro na-obsessed lang jud kog NBA cards kay love man gihapon ni nako na hobby (1994 ko nagstart palit sa White Gold). pagkawala atong tindahan ug NBA cards sa SM napapas jud ang NBA card mania ato diri sa Cebu (if i remember it ryt didto nihinay kadto pag 1999 lockout sa NBA kay wala pa man giproduce dayon ang mga cards ato for the upcoming season).

but because of internet forums and ebay namalit japon ko until now....

Sayang ako collection from 1996-2000. Mao to nga year na draft si Kobe so daghan ko atog rookie cards sa ilang batch like Iverson, Marbury, Nash, Camby, Allen, etc. Gibaligya nakog 2k ang whole album nako, gi installment sa nakapalit unya 500 ra ako nadawat.

Sayanga ani uy. Nindot ra ba ang 96 nga draft class.

one reason is mahal na ang packs. if there is gani its 1k per pack. lahi na ang cards sauna ug karon. naa man gani box mu balor ug 30k per box. nya guaranteed auto and jersey/jersey patch nya base card ang makuha.

I think you're referring to the high-end cards like Upper Deck's Exquisite line. $400 man siguro ang per box nya, then 5 cards lang ang naa sa sulod, pero guaranteed hits gyud sya. Kung maswertehan ka, you can get a box with MJ or Lebron autos, which can be sold for thousands of dollars on E-Bay.

You can still buy packs along the 150-200 price range, but these are mostly hobby packs, low end products.

I was hoping that the hobby would pick up last year, especially with marquee rookies like Griffin and Wall sparking interest. Pero karon nga lock out, daghan na sad nawad-an ug gana sa NBA, so samot maapektohan ang hobby. How I wish the hobby was like in the 90s, but I guess that was our peak.
