Basin ganahan mo suwatan ang Cebu ug negative articles nga mahal ang rates sa hotel. Kamu gud, pagtuman mo. Gusto man kaha mo mag entice bisita, ayaw palabi-i ninyo ug pangwarta.

    Hala patas-i pa.
hehehehe, i have stayed in hotels that charge more than US$1000 per night like the hilton in the Maldives, and yes, i have also stayed in "hotels" that charge PhP700 per night, and yes, i can say that there is a very big difference... But i can also say that when i stayed in the maldives, NO ONE WAS COMPLANING ABOUT THE RATES... Up til today the Hilton Maldives is still lauded as one of the best in the world... walay nagreklamo, gets mo? I have also had the luxury of staying at the Philippines' Amanpulo for two weeks, and hey, no one was complaining... least of all myself, for the room's occupant before me was Sharon Stone... hehehehehe

anyhow, hotels will always jack up their prices, and people will always stay in them. it's a studied art, and not just an "auction" or guessing game... Hotels have been successful doing this for over a hundred years... what makes you think that your ranting will change that...?

maybe you should stay in Mactan Pension House na lang bro... hehehehe

Dako ang preparation pero kalooy sad diay sa mga pulis nga gikan sa ubang provinsya nga mo servisyo during sa summit. Walay maayong tagad sa ilang accomodation, food and other facilities like clean toilets.

I think the local government has passed a resolution which will ultimately put in order traffic in affected areas. In as much as the security of the people involved in the ASEAN Summit is also a major concern, the government also wanted to minimize the traffic problem.

same story sa airline business, suwayi ug larga during summer or Christmas Season from the U.S. to the Philippines or anywhere in the world for that matter, ang regular rate sa round trip nga more or less $900 mahimong $1600. try your logic with that 100 room example of yours and compare it with a 300 seater plane. pareha ra man nang duha nga dili na mausab ang rooms sa hotel ug seat sa eroplano. unsa gani to tawag nila ana? Law of Supply and Demand ba to?

taga Cebu siguro ang ga decide nga tas an ang plete sa eroplano sa?

    ASEAN Center Opens Today

    By MARS W. MOSQUEDA JR.

MANDAUE CITY, Cebu – Skeptics on the completion of the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) have lost as the venue for some of the meetings in the 12th Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will be inaugurated today.

At least 90 ASEAN meetings are scheduled to be conducted at the center, whose completion in time for the four-day summit next week has been doubted by many.

The National Organizing Committee (NOC) of the 12th ASEAN Summit said that the CICC will indeed be used, aside from holding the International Media Center.

In fact, a light-up ceremony will be held at the CICC today (Wednesday) to officially signify that Cebu is ready to host the 12th ASEAN Summit on December 10 to 14.

Today's activity will be participated by the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu, all hosts to the 12th ASEAN Summit. NOC Chairperson Ambassador Marciano Paynor Jr. is expected to grace the event that will be led by Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia.

Each of the three delegations will hold a parade to be led by their respective dance troupe, which will showcase the festivities of each of the host cities — Sinulog for Cebu City, Mantawi for Mandaue City and Kadaugan sa Mactan for Lapu-Lapu City.

This will be at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The delegations will come from various points and converge at the CICC.

The Cebu City delegates will gather at the Caltex station while those from Mandaue will start from the San Miguel Brewery. The Lapu-Lapu delegation will kick off the parade from the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.

The officials from each of the host cities will lead their delegations and they will be accompanied by torch bearers and the bearers of the flags of the ten member countries of the ASEAN and of its four dialogue partners.

The three colors of the Philippine flag will be represented in t-shirts to be worn by the members of the delegation of the three cities, namely white for Cebu City, blue for Mandaue City and red for Lapu-Lapu City.

They will all converge at the CICC where the torch bearers will light the urn, which will be followed by the switching of the lights within the CICC premises and the simultaneous switch-on of the Christmas lights and lamp posts located along the ceremonial routes in the three cities.

i've been lurking on this thread, and after all this back-and-forth, it occurred to me that perhaps he was absent from economics class when the law of supply and demand was discussed...

unfortunately, Cebu is not maldives, vegas or bahamas. Its just cebu. an average island in the Philippines when it comes to tourism.

anyway, im just taking a cue of what FOCAP is complaining. These people are not greenhorn in checking in hotels. The fact that they are complaining, it must be something.

Kana kung ako ra ang nag reklamo makaingon siguro mo nga wala koy K kay i didnt know law of supply and demand. But its FOCAP you know. Address your defense to FOCAP, not me, an ordinary individual who does not know about law of supply and demand.
