Continuing with tradition, Noctua is offering the new NM-I2011 SecuFirm2™ mountings free of charge to new and existing customers, which is compatible with their whole line of retail heatsinks. We at VR-Zone tested it on our previously reviewed NH-C14 and the new ASUS Sabertooth X79 to bring you the mounting procedures and some idea about ram clearance.

The kit came in a small and glossy box



Opening the box was akin to opening a jewellery case, quite impressive considering its free of charge

First we screwed on the new brackets to the base of the heatsink (4 screws)



Then we screwed in the bolts into the 4 corners of the LGA2011 socket frame



Mounting bars and thumbscrews



Mounted the heatsink



As we can see, no RAM slots were obstructed



How did it perform?

Due to NDA considerations, we can only say - it works fine!
