chatrooms are rooms within the chat client...lets say for example...your chat client is YAHOO messenger..you can chat using that if you have someone on your buddy or your friends lists..that is if you added them up already..well using YM(yahoo messenger) can make you earn friends by entering a chat room which is found inside the interface of the YM..in that place you can chat to anybody in anyplace in the world even if they're not in your friends list..so Chat rooms and chat client are diffrent...well in chat client there's also a difference...one is the regular chat client,the one that you need to install in you PC inorder for you to use it ...the other one is the web based chat client...all you need to do is access a browser...go the chat client web site like ex. http://www.meebo.com,www.koolim.com,...oveim.com..etc. put your chat ID..or username...and thats it!! your online!!...you dont need to install anything in using a web based chat client..but the downside of the web based chat client is...there is no chat rooms..all you can see is the buddy/friendslist that you have..so if your in an office that has restiction on installing softwares like we do here...use that web based chat client!!...so there you go!!..
