Based on the almost 1 month using the ASUS G-74SX laptop, I'm completely satisfied with just a minor complaint.
Although it's heavy, it's a good desktop replacement. My G74SX is the lower specs one with just the i7 2Ghz processor, 8 GB RAM( though expandable to 16 GB), GeForce GTX 560M - 2 GB VCard, 1 USB 3.0/ 3 USB 2.0 and a 1TB HDD. While I use it not for gaming purposes but rather for editing, games run smoothly even on all High or Ultra settings. So far I've tested it on Heroes VI and Patrician IV. I can play a game while at the same time playing a movie and surfing the net, the 8 GB RAM handled it all with several Gigs of RAM to spare.
Heat is a non-issue, even when the temperature outside reaches 35 degrees with no electric fan on.
Windows Experience Index is at 5.9 only because it's not on SSD, while gfx, processor and RAM is at 7.1 - 7.6.
The only thing that bothers everyone with this type of laptop is the internal speakers. It's very low even when it's on full volume. But with a headset, the sound is very good.
All in all, I give it a 9 out of 10.
P.S. - This unit has 4G Wimax capability.
