...which means it is very difficult if not impossible to do what he want... he should ask pldt why they give him a router and he cant use it.

Yes, its possible they changed the firmware so it wont run in router mode to prevent the 999 and 1995 1 PC subscriptions to use more than one.

Read the posts at http://www.pinoydsl.net. They may have a solution. If I remember, there was a discussion about this issue and they also posted a solution, by using a router connected to the modem and how to handle this portal login.
