NBA owners, players make progress
NEW YORK – The NBA and Players Association have made progress on the proposed revenue split between owners and players, an important element in settling a new collective bargaining agreement and ending the lockout, league sources involved in the ongoing labor negotiations told Yahoo! Sports.
As long expected, the two sides have moved closer to a “50-50 split, give or take a point with ranges based on revenue performance,” one source said.
While the league’s owners and players made progress in Wednesday’s 8½-hour mediation session, one source involved in the talks was hesitant to characterize it as a “breakthrough” moment, saying system issues could again derail talks. The two sides will resume mediation at 2 p.m. ET Thursday following the conclusion of the owners’ board of governors meetings. The owners are meeting to discuss a new revenue-sharing plan, and what type of proposal they present to the players on Thursday will determine whether the labor talks continue to gather momentum.

Latest news i hear
In a somewhat shocking turn of events in Thursday's labor meeting, talks broke down and no future meetings have been scheduled as of now.
It seems that talk of a 50-50 BRI split was the breaking point, this a big setback. Things appeared to be going well up until late today, and we'll probably see some meetings scheduled again in the near future. But for those of us hoping a deal would be reached on Monday, this is very bad news.
Murag long ride to season starting ... here we go
Master Yoda's Quote “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”
In some news, 53% BRI will never be given to players. Some owners would prefer to loose the whole season.
Is it the players fault that the owners offer huge contracts to players that causes them to loose money? Lots of people are suffering from this lockout and NBA is loosing some fans out there. This is all about greed.
and there is no way the players will accept a 50-50 BRI split. because that 50-50 is not actually 50-50... its 50-50 after the owners get a portion of the revenue. the remaining revenue will then be spilt to 50-50... and how is that 50-50? mao bitaw 57-43 na sa una in favor of the players.
this years NBA season is totally endangered. kawawa naman mga rookies. They moved out of school, tapos ala silang sahod.
by the way, if there will be no NBA season this year, what will happen to the next draft? Will CAVs get the 1st and 4th again? Swerte naman nila.
