no offense but usually basta new account or new company usahay magpanic hiring na sila. ang uban ana ihire nila bisan dili kaayo experienced. bisan makaingon mo na experienced mo or nag una mo sa account that doesn't always mean qualified mo for higher posts.
I think mao giopen to external ang hiring para daghan sila mapilian. naa na mga companies na moprefer og naay six sigma training/certificate sa high ranking positions.

some people may have been hired for other reasons aside from knowledge since they hope to get that later
If you can remember, it took them about 3 months or more during the hiring process before they offered the JO for Wave 1. Ilang reason is they want to hire the best people. I don't think they were in panic hiring kay it seems that they really took some time. Laliman ka pila ka buwan imo paabot before ka makasign ug JO.

if you observed during your first days in the office as a pioneer agent, kita kaayo nimo na dili pa fully ready ang site. I know nagsige ka forward ang starting dates and JOs sa uban coz there were technical issues and preparations na ilang giprioritize. 3months sounds like an excuse to me. WTH they've told you you are hired and will wait for 3months so if they think you are not the best they will call you and apologize? meaning gihasa diay imong resume for those months?
IMO, If you are a pioneer and have waited for several months for a JO, that doesn't mean you were the best candidate they hired on that season. Maybe you are but like most newly opened BPOs, they don't pick and say the "best" but the experienced agents.
As I know, they always say they hire the "best people" not just wave 1.

Right. But what I'm trying to point out is, wala nag panic hiring. You have a point, but it's really discouraging nga paasahon ang agents ug trainees nga daghan ug opportunities for promotion unya mang hire diay ug external. To think nga mao na ang reason why they applied in the first place, gi agwanta ang sweldo, and it also served as their motivation to perform well. Like I said, their stats are at par or even better than the tenured agents who are based in manila. Unya ang na hire nga sales manager is from a tech account sa lain company. So kinsa man mas deserving?
Let me put my two cents worth on hiring externally. In the case of the sales manager who is from a tech account, he could have been hired for his ability to handle people. He could always learn the account as he goes along. It's not hard to learn the ins and outs of the business but having a natural flair in handling people does not come easily. If you check the statistics, the reason why most people quit is because of the way their immediate supervisor handled them. What are you going to do with all that knowledge when the way you interact with your subordinates is the pits?
I don't know that sales manager and I don't know how he handles people, but I am just pointing out something that most people might have forgotten. The most important thing that a manager should have is people skills. Yes, product knowledge is a must.. but that can be acquired in due time. =)
Handling people is the job of the sup, the assistant OM and the OM himself as far as I know. If you're into sales, mostly ang nature sa job is to make some strategies on how to improve the agents' performance sa sales. Igo ra man mag monitor sa sales, report sa client ug I know daghan pa kaayo but basically not to handle people. How can you make an agent to improve his/her sales if you don't know what to do due to lack of familiarity? And how can the company be so sure nga in the long run, he could learn the account as he goes along. Maybe he will, but it will take some time compared kung ikaw jud ang mag take ug calls, di ba? And how can the company be so sure sad (kung the ability to handle people ang basehan) nga katong nindot ug stats nga agent di maayo ug ability when it comes to being a leader? Murag naa may mga agents nga TL, QA, etc from other companies before.
Akoa ra pud nang opinion and I'm not saying sakto jud ko heheheh

In our company, if I open a requisition to hire subords, HR will still post it online or somewhere for SOP daw. I guess they think our employees will also read and browse jobsites or newspapers and never the company's website.lol
I know disappointing jud inyo sweldo coz bisan ako nag expect ko na higher rate jud coz of what they've been advertising.
Regarding sa tech-salesmanager, im not really sure how he got qualified for the post. tingali naay skills or training before sa iyang company. Like our company, they offer six sigma training and other leadership skill na bisan dili manager or sup pwede makaavail basta lang naay approval sa imong boss. I guess you need to give him a chance. Just think or imagine yourself in his shoe. Bisan experienced or tenured agent naka i know maglisod jud kag handle or different personalities. ang uban pa ana mas knowledgeable or experienced pa nimo.
