Did somebody blown a PC by not using an AVR or UPS?

The situation is that:
You sit on your computer as the UPS starts beeping, the aircon make strange noise, but the lights are still on.
Seconds later, the power is completely off.
After power is restored, the comp wont start, thats it. No way to prevent that.
The UPS was not able to handle this many times a second power up and down and on/off.
A "normal" brownout, where the power falls quickly to 0V is no problem, but this one was strange.

bitaw sad, paspas man diay ni imo situation. wa jud ta lain mabuhat ani. ilisan na lang ang mga affected na appliance or PC parts.

di pa jud ni covered sa warranty noh?

No warranty... however, bought a new board and looking now for a reliable UPS, but what they sell in SM is in my opinion just "crap"...

I am not using commercial grade surge protectors. I only made myself using gauge 16 wire wound on a ferrite bar and some side items. So far so good. Even AVR's nowadays doesn't guarantee any protection bisan sa iya AC cord pwerteng gamaya.

In my experience daghan na nga case ko nasulayan nga guba gyud ang monitor tungod sa power surge,and it derives its 220v from the CPU power supply, on the electronic side this one we need to consider, Digital signals are not really prone to noise mao nga dili kaayo sila kinahanglan ug maayo nga regulation that's why some cheapo or even high-end power supply manufacturers are not really concerned with a very smooth power supply hence transfer of data from the CPU to the GPU for example is not a problem even if the signals are not really smooth because the computer is smart enough to decode what type of data is being inputted because signals are digital ( 1's and 0's),..

I am not trying to tell you where is it connected, am telling you where the monitor got its power source.

This is what am trying to correct, that the CPU power supplys operation has nothing to do with the monitors 220V power source it only provide an AC socket extention from the power AC source from the AVR. Medjo akong lng na spoonfeed ug maayo brad pasenha na because i just found a need to do it that way.



Another thing akong e add ug comment, this is about the digital signal you also mentioned.

I have a correction on this one "digital signal" needs proper voltage regulator, the word digital may just look to us 1's and 0's, Yes it produce less noise than analog circuits but it also needs a less noise power source. Take note of the word signal. A signal could mean radio signal, sound signal, computer signal in our own easy term, which deals with speed or power commonly named as Mega Watts in power ang Mega Hertz in speed, this two example needs a good regulated steady state AC and DC supply to support its expencieve circuitry. An example in theory is a 100% radio frequency modulated signal in which at a 1 kilometer distance from the transmitter only 10% will reach at that point, that,s in a line of sight computation in which wala pa gi subtract ang signal lost cause by obsraction sa ana na 10%, In ana ka important ang regulated power supply sa digital signals, Sa ma recall naku before sa ga skwela pako wa gyud ko ka gamit ug signal generator nga dili regulated power suppy ang nag power. So for me lang ha i dunno sa uban ha , its wrong gyud to say nga "dili kaayo sila kinahanglan ug maayo nga regulation" ang digital signals.

Ok ako i-correct...Ang Monitor nga kanang naka connect sa luyo ang iyang AC which is 220V,..kaila naman tingale mo unsa na power supply no..kanang murag box nga metal na sagad tawag nila 300Watts naa na gani 600Watts karon..Mao na ang PSU..
Ug imo iconnect ang 220v AC nga wire sa monitor sa Power supply sa CPU mura ra na ug naka connect sa inyong matag-usag usa nga mga outlet sa balay.. sayop na ang word nga "derive" dapat diay gi "connect" sa PSU, unya ang kana nga wire nga para sa 220v nga sagad iconnect sa Voltage regulator ug subayon nimo ngadto gyud sa ilawon sa power supply wala nay lain connection kundi didto ra gihapon padung sa outlet na..wala na relation what so ever sa power supply sa CPU nga regulated.. ok na solve na..sabot mo ato mga newbie? libog gamay da kay taas.

O sakto kaayo ni,,,but to some extent set by the standards, kana ug unsa nga degree of regulation ug unsa sad ang imong reference para makaingon ka nga proper regulation..also take note that wala ko moingon ug dili proper ingon lang ko dili kaayo...

Also signal transmission and reception depende naman tingale na sa coding and decoding technique imo gigamit, if ever related siya sa regulated power supply sa PC mura it would be the least and very much away of the subject matter and a concern here...

sorry bro pero daghan nako naayo nga electronic devices nga wala ka boto ang fuse..pero nay mga pesa naguba..depende sad sa type sa fuse nga gigamit usahay, usahay paspas(sakto ba kaha nga termino) kaayo ang power surge nga dili gani kaboto ang fuse.. os dili na impossible.
