OT: Some facts about genital warts...

Genital warts, like other non-STD warts, are caused by various types of the human papilloma virus (HPV) that infect the top layers of the skin. There are over 100 different types of HPV that may cause warts, but only a small number of strains can cause genital warts. Those that do cause genital warts, unlike other wart-causing HPVs, are highly contagious and are passed on through sexual contact with a person who is infected. HPV types 6 and 11 cause the majority of genital warts.

HPV is spread by direct skin-to-skin contact, including sexual intercourse, oral ***, anal ***, or any other contact involving the genital area (eg, hand-to-genital contact). It is not possible to become infected with HPV by touching a toilet seat. Most people with the virus do not have visible warts, but can still transmit the virus. Treating the warts may not decrease the chance of spreading the virus. Therefore, all people who are sexually active should be regarded as potential sources of HPV, not just those with visible warts.

Warts may appear weeks to a year or more after being exposed to the virus; it is not usually possible to know when or how you became infected.

hi guys, just wanna ask if you know any GYNECOLOGIST in CEBU CITY who specializes in treating STD's because i've been sexually active since 18.yo and i am so scared i might have these kind of disease. i have been noticing abnormallities with my discharges and i am so freaking out now.
