Default So, I want to startup a licensed radio station in Cebu..

I would like some advice/guidance in my course to setting up and establishing my own registered radio station here. What process and costs would be involved, who I'd have to talk to, etc.

Ideally, the genres would range from eclectic selection from Jazz, Funk, Deep House, Trance, Chillout (as a few examples) and only aiming for Friday and Saturday nights as timeslots.

Let me know what you guys think of this idea. I would greatly appreciate any support

talk to NTC first.. you need to get a license to operate your station..

then as far as I know, most Radio frequencies here in Cebu are almost filled up, you need to choose what and where to place your station freq so that it can be registered as well... the low base band is 88.1 and the high base is 108.1... in between that, basta dug.ol kau ang mga frequencies sa masigka station, mag cancel out na sila... resulting into static frequencies which would turn out nga inaudible na ang madunggan sa mga listeners... Choose a RF nga dako ug wide iyang broadband ug wala pag nigamit ana.. aron mas clearer iyang broadcast signal.

Also, I doubt your station would click considering you would be only airing it on Fridays and Saturdays.. The overhead operating costs is already there.. but less listeners would listen kay mao ra na imong days i.broadcast.. remember.. in the radio and any mass media industry.. you can't solely operate the overheads without any advertisers around.. you need them...

unless nalang dato jud kau ka, like sa Y101 wherein Jack Jakosalem is solely managing the station all by his pockets lang.. He doesn't need any advertisers to sustain the growth of his radio station.

One other option would be to buy an existing one.. kanang naa nay license and everything.. all you have to do is take over.

Or, you might want to buy a block time (that is, you buy the time slot you prefer) also from any one of the existing stations...
