Singson on Photoshop fiasco: Embarrassing
MANILA, Philippines - Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio Singson is humiliated with the fiasco caused by the altered photo showing three of the department’s officials in a post-Pedring devastation along Roxas Boulevard.
On the sidelines of the National Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Council meeting on Sunday, Singson said, “it’s very embarrassing to the DPWH. We’re all trying to imbue honesty and integrity and here comes a fake picture.”

The Washington Post's Elizabeth Flock wrote about the recent "Photoshop fiasco" involving the Department of Public Works and Highways. Flock detailed how the administrators of the DPWH's Facebook page had reportedly "Photoshopped three officials into a typhoon cleanup photo." The altered image featuringthe post-"Pedring" devastation on Roxas Boulevard enraged a lot of netizens.

In the cleanup photo, the three officials appeared to be assessing the damage of the typhoon, but one discerning blogger and civil engineer noticed that something didn’t seem quite right.
A careful look at the photo shows that the officials seem to be floating in mid-air, and that their images were likely dragged into the scene using Photoshop’s lasso tool.
