i`ve seen it for the 1oth time after the OSCARS....

the movie is extremely fabulous! a musical and a movie in one...pure genius!

took me two weeks to finish the movie.... the first 30 minutes just before the oscars, the last part of the movie just last night.

the dancing sequence are nice specially the first act and inside the prison (with the 6 girls telling each of their stories). catherine zeta jones acted, dance and sing well and worthy of her oscar. reneee zellweger's performance not bad . richard geres singing and numbers are not that good in fact i find that jonh reilly singing performance better (maybe because i never thought he could sing that way) and yes lucy lui steals some scene.

i didn't like the story. maybe coz it's a girl movie. woman killing their husbands for something (one because of a gum, CZJ because she caught her husband doing the spread eagle on her sister, etc, etc.) lawyers being lawyer who are only there for the money and publicity. reporters who will cook something up just to sell stories. and women who will do anything just to gain publicity and fame (roxy hart).

maybe that is what chicago during those days. hopefully women will not emulate such things......

the only musical movies i have so far liked are the sound of music and those disney movies like beauty and the beast. films like chicago are better appreciated in theatre production....
