Maybe with the upgrade forecast of the World Bank with regard to the country's growth, we will be more convinced that we are going on the right track towards economic progress. Foreign investors are eyeing the country's positive outlook which keeps our flow of investments moving forward.

hehehe... nagkadagko ang utang lagi nato sa worldbank noh? mao diay ni ang no longer a third world country?

it is good if we get to see our country progressing, but not at all nice when there is something in the background slowly pulling the strings.

I just hope something good turns out after a time.

Yeah, its sad...that's why the president is trying to lessen our budget deficit so that we may resort to less borrowing to fill in the gap......and I think we should be happy that the latest news about the deficit is that it is actually smaller than that was expected.........

if you think lessening the buget deficit or lower incidence of 'poverty' makes us less of a 'third world country', think again.

especially when the government's definition of poverty and unemployment changes to suit its needs, or when budget deficit is 'lessened' by sacrificing on much needed basic services (health, education, housing, social welfare).

I agree w/both of u arnoldsa and gharid. There is a big hope for all of us if we are just optimistic. Let us just think of the future coz anyway its for our next generation. If Philippines won't be well-off today, maybe the next generation to come.Gusto ba ninyo nga hasta ang atong mga grandchildren maka-experience sa atong kalisod karon? I don't think so,dats y we need to work harder and harder.Pasagdi nalng na ang uban nga mga badlongon kay maka-amgo ra na sila. I'm not Pro-Gloria nor Anti-Gloria,all I want and hope that we all do our best to move ds country forward.

Have you encountered an email telling the story about the success of Dr. Josette Biyo of Ilo-Ilo in Kentucky,USA. She's just an ordiinary high school Biology teacher who have won the grand prize beating 4000 other teachers worldwide in Science and Mathematics. That would prove that we Pinoys are worldclass and I hope everyone would still dat in mind.

Actually, the World Bank Country Director made a statement to the effect that the Philippines is standing at the crossroads of growth. Apparently, the real challenges lie on increasing real investment, higher income and more jobs for the people.

We really have to deal with this kind of statements. We have to face the challenges set forth by our international partners towards global competitiveness.
