Then don't take things so personally so we can have a discussion.

I was discussing the immaturity and fanatic thinking of most voters here, which I think you are an example from your posts, contrasting to how voters in other democracies act. Overreact man gud dayon ka.. dats the problem...

If like you say you aren't a fanatic of Noynoy and don't agree with everything he says, then thats plus points for you. But then again you go around calling every criticism, especially from that newspaper, black propaganda. And don't pretend you don't do that man, that's pathetic. From your own post, you bunched all anti-noynoys in one group and said they are spreading black propaganda just because their candidates didn't win. I'm not only talking about the Daily Tribune which you hate with a passion...

I don't personally know Ongpin nor am I that familiar with the case, but this is an alleged behest loan by Arroyo, even though most of the funds were paid back and DBP really for the purposes of providing loans to businesses. Even if we were to say arguably that the assets on the books don't justify the large loans, this isn't the first time banks overestimate a borrower's paying capacity and total assets is not the sole determinant of the size of the loan, sometimes managers make judgment regarding the person borrowing and in this case, since the amount was all paid back anyway, it seems whoever made the decision made the right call. It's just the government going after all of Arroyo's associates at all costs..

Compare this to what Cojuangco did with the coco levy which was intended to be lent to farmers but instead loaned to Cojuangco and yet he won the SC San Miguel case. I don't see this one going far.. unless there's some bias in favor of Cojuangco because that case was much worse than this one, and by some coincidence since a relative is the President he gets away with it.

let me just explain it as short as possible. the deregulation law gives autonomy to the gas companies on their prices. if Shell wants an increase, then go ahead, nobody can stop them. Look at what's happening now. that is the deregulation law.

but if the Department of Energy were to regulate the price of gas and it's products, then we can at least have some form of control and prevent these gas companies from doing what they want, which of course is to make constant price hike.
I'm not even sure how accurate that study is. You just have to look at Indonesia to see if subsidies reduce fuel cost. Indonesia has much lower fuel costs than us and they also have cheaper electricity. That doesn't mean I support subsidies, because I think it will bankrupt our government every time the price of oil goes up. I'm just saying that if the country produces enough of its own oil, then subsidies will bring costs down. Another example is Saudi Arabia and UAE, large producers of oil who have very cheap, subsidized petrol.

The issue with the Oil Deregulation law isn't the idea of the law, it's how it's implemented or that it lacks teeth. Oil cartels are clearly engaging in collusion and price fixing which should be against the law, but because the law lacks teeth to send these guys to jail the law doesn't work. It's only common sense that when you deregulate you have to stop price fixing at all costs, otherwise it defeats the purpose of deregulating, which is to encourage these companies to compete with each other.
