Apocrypha, according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, means "books included in the Septuagint and Vulgate but excluded from the Jewish and Protestant canons of the Old Testament.

A, ka dakong tikas anang imong gibuhat, bay. You are implicitly saying that this thread (which was created by @santopaps) is THE church history. Wala manglibawot imong balhibo pag-type anang maong claim?

Yes, some posts in this thread (particularly those post of yours and santopaps) claimed that the catholic church did not exist before 312 A.D. but it is just your claim. Your claim can easily be busted by simply browsing to wikipedia.

Klaro kaayo nga sa tuig circa 79 A.D. duna nay pope. Nia ay:

Pope Saint Anacletus (very rarely written as Anencletus), also called Pope Cletus, was the third Roman Pope (after St. Peter and St. Linus).

Tradition has it that this Pope divided Rome into twenty-five parishes. One of the few surviving records concerning his papacy mentions him as having ordained an uncertain number of priests.

He was buried next to his predecessor, Saint Linus, in St. Peter's Basilica, in what is now Vatican City. His name (as Cletus) is included in the Roman Canon of the Mass.

src: Pope Anacletus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nia pa gyud, gikan sa bible mismo:

    Romans 1:7-8

To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people...I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.
Ka-klaro ana. Asa may atong tuohan, ikaw OR kanang tinuod nga nakasulat sa history ug sa bible?

P.S. Ayaw palabi og pamakak, bro. Kay makadaut na siya.

one of the greatest disputes in history...
    Is peter the first pope?
Naa sa new testament nga peter was never in rome. It was Paul who was tasked to reach out to the gentiles. Naa pa gani claim nga it was a different peter that the rcc claims mao daw ang first pope.

According to church history topic (this thread) recordings point out that paul of the new testament started to reach out to rome. During 2nd and 3rd century catholicism started BUT it was not yet recognized by the roman government. In fact, grabe ang persecution and torture against christians and/or catholics.

4th century (312 ad) constantine already made christianity the official religion of rome. Hence only then were the roman catholic institutions in place. Yes there were bishops already even during the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd century not only in rome but also in other regions. but as to popes that were commissioned officialy by the vatican or the roman catholic church as an institution... Mao na ang dakong pangutana. Gi unsa pag butho ug santo papa gikan sa vatican kung wa pa ma porma ang vatican during the first century.

Catholics claim Peter to be the first pope but even according the wikipedia: "Although peter never bore the title of pope, which came into use much later, Catholics recognize him as the pope". Mao ni gi tawag sa istorya sa iskina nga: To your according ra na., . See the next post...

You might want to wikpedia this:

"Persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire"

In legal parlance, they say, Res ipsa loquitor - The thing speaks for itself.

The truths of history cannot be hidden. No matter who tries to hide it.

    @ dcuenco:

Holy See - the episcopal jurisdiction (a district under the supervision of a bishop) of the Catholic Church in Rome, in which its Bishop is commonly known as the Pope.

src: Holy See - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tinuod dunay mga obispo sa ubang mga region adtong panahona, but the bishop in Rome holds a special title.

    Romans 1:7-8

To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people...I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.

    Again, atong patubagon si wikipedia.

Although it is often referred to by the term "the Vatican", the Holy See is not the same entity as the Vatican City State, which came into existence only in 1929, while the Holy See, the episcopal see of Rome, dates back to early Christian times.

src: Holy See - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ka-klaro ana.

The best evidence available for the origins of the Roman church is Saint Paul's Epistle to the Romans. This indicates that the church was established probably by the early 40s (A.D.). Saint Peter became associated with this church sometime between the year 58 and the early 60s.

src: Diocese of Rome - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    Nia pa:

The history of the papacy, the office held by the Pope as head of the Catholic Church, spans from the time of Saint Peter to present day.

src: History of the papacy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
