The main purpose for this monitor is for Programming and Documentation. I'm used to opening a lot of windows (not the OS) so thats why I'm looking for a bigger monitor, its just that the price difference is too high.Originally Posted by EarlZ

Programming for school or business, if its for business a 19" would easy to recover from.
Get a 19" monitor and not an LCD. Though the LCD is close, if not, a true 19" screen..the desktop area would still be limited. A monitor however will give you a higher resolution which means a bigger working "area". I'm not sure if their are newer 19-inchers with better resolutions out there, should there be one..it'll probably be too expensive.
this is the line --------- cross it. i dare you
19" LCD always had a bigger display for me compared to CRT
nindot 19" dili mu-squint imong mata ug tan-aw sa pino nga resolution.![]()
you mean the actual visible display? of course, it's a true 19" (very little +/-) if it's a 19-inch LCD.
a 19" monitor will display 18"+ the reason mostly being the outer edges being relatively fugly to use.
a 1600x1200 display would mean more lines for JamesCo which is perfect for lines and lines of code.

Thanks everyone, I had finally decided and bought a 19" CRT, aside from this topic I've also experience in our office and heard from friends that the LCD is not yet 100% perfect in the sense of durability. Here at the office we've experience an LCD which was replace twice due to defective (dead set) and another one with dead pixel.
Dead pixels are common problems to my friends. And also I choose CRT partly because of the price difference.
Once again thank you everyone for sharing your comments and ideas to this topic.
For anyone who would like to add more suggestion, go on add your them here, so that in the future it will help others decide which to choose.
What do you guys think of LG CRT monitors?
hmmm.. ok lang.. hehehe.. but mas ok adto ka sa LCD.. kai gamay ra power consumption and less eye strain.. compared sa CRT..
