In my own opinion lang ha.
I think you need capital not less than 1M.why? because what if naay mag prenda ug gold worth 100k for one day? in reality this is a fact. Maremate ang item for 3 months. So ma stanby imong 100k for 3 months if di lukaton ang item. Dapat pud naa kay ka disposan sa imong mga items nga mas higher sa imong prenda. Pwedi man nimo e display sa imong shop imong item ang problema ma standby na pud for how many days if walay mupalit.
Klaytons advice is right.
You need seminar para makabalo ka ug unsay fake or genuine nga item. Guindelines of anti money laudering too.
hope it helps...

Jewelry Appraisal and Pawnshop Operation
Lecture: gold testing and diamond grading, pricing, valuation and identification of gemstones, government laws and implementing guidelines related to pawnshop operation. Hands-on: determining genuine stones and appraising of gold and diamond, plating of jewelry (gold to gold). Bring calculator.
@TS: make sure you can compete with the Lhuiliers.
I suggest, mag hire ka ug sweto na sa gold testing while you are still practicing. You'll encounter a lot of fake items, that's for sure. Attending seminars is good, but experience and time really make you a better appraiser.
Another suggestion is, think of other things that you will accept aside from gold. Bigger pawnshop companies have the highest appraisal for gold.
PM me if you have more questions.
