racism is racism
Kuyawa nila ug screening process ah, "based on individual behaviour?" So kung super bayot ka, mag sul-ob lang ka ug pang lalaki, dili mag pa ila sa imong lihuk ug tingog nga bayot ka, then pasar ka sa screening..
really...stereotyping is still raging. even here sa istorya forum mabantayan sab nako kung kinsay ingnaning klasiha. tsk. luoya sad ana nila. it's not even just gays who suffer this...lesbians as well. third *** in general.
I find it quite discriminatory that until today, one of the pre-screening questions when donating blood is if you are a homosexual or not. They paraphrase the question to the effect of "Do you have history of male to male s3x" or something to that effect.
yes discrimination and unfair,
but they can't blame it only to DOH, statistics tells you
gays have higher risk of having HIV
you won't be discriminated if you don't allow them to.
do they even take precautions?
Of course….to a vigilant phlebotomist ANYONE is a possible HIV carrier unless proven otherwise.
And yes HIV cannot be detected at an early stage,,,,mao bitaw na nga ang phlebotomist wala ni take sa risk because lives are at stake ………….Bro dili tanang BAYOT positive sa HIV dili sab tanan BAYOT malaswa ug nilihukan but the thing is that male to male sexual activities (but not limited to) are included as risk factors in contracting the dreaded virus...and male 2 male s3x is strongly bound to homosexuality even if NOT all homosexuals engage in such.
And even if it is true that a “seemingly” straight looking guy (macho ug dating) might look healthy and decent and yet had just recently engaged in a male to male s3x, chances are that he might pass the INITIAL interview and screening compared to an effeminate looking guy even when the effeminate guy in truth had not even touch a single human being in his life, because part of the INITIAL screening is the physical appearance and behavior of the would be donor.
Why??.....klaro ana……. kun ikaw kunoy recipient beh tapos papili-on ka kun asay gusto nimo mu donate ug dugo para nimo:
1. Healthy looking nga Bata, (sample ra ni hap kay naay legal minimum age ang pag donate)
2. Healthy looking nga MALE or FEMALE ,
3. Healthy looking nga BAYOT, Bayoton.
RULE of The THUMB:
“Never assume that the would be donors have told you everything about their activities”……so kun sa interview pa lang daan kun makita sa phlebo nga dili sincere ang donor REJECT….’coz innocent lives are at stake.

uhm bai as you know, HIV can also be transferred from man-woman, woman-man sexual intercourse. Incubation period of HIV virus is very long thus, as you've said, hard to detect in its' early stage. Straight guys/ladies who got HIV from their straight partners might not be aware they already have it. So, tendency they might also pass HIV testing prior to donation of blood.
that Vigilant phlebotomist you said doesnt have HIV detector eyes. He is judging the donors objectively and filter them base on his, as you said, "discretion", which also can be considered discrimination not just to that gay person but to the whole gay community.
Would a straight woman suck a guy's p3nis with a condom?
ang problema ani karon gud, kay na generalize ang mga gays to whatever they called it
because gays has green blood that's why they didn't accept it.
