Placing barriers can be construed as blocking the road. Did the developer have the authority to allow the placing of the barriers or has the running of the subdivision been already turned over to the homeowner's association? If the American was allowed to place barriers in front of his house, does that mean that every homeowner in that subdivision could do the same? Wouldn't everyone want to slow down traffic in front of his house? Wouldn't most houses in that subdivision be exposed to cars running at similar speeds? Why does this American need or want to have special treatment by having barriers in front of his house?
As I said, Byron's reaction may have been way overboard, and is not something I condone at all, but I still admire him for standing up for our rights in our own country. Let the NBI investigate him. At least that American now knows he can't be treated special in this country because he is a foreigner. What rules apply to the rest of us Filipinos also apply to him.
