We voted for them, hence, making them technically more capable and in a better position to legislate than us. They are representatives after all, people who represent the interests of their constituency.

Case in point: this same lawmaker is the genius who's trying to push for 4-day work weeks ala France.

It's puzzling why people don't expect more of lawmakers in this country.
Thats the whole point in the case of the LAWMAKERS .

I for one , dont know the representative . The only emphasis I am trying to make here is , if you look closely on probably 95% of the replies , you can clearly see what kind of CONSTITUENTS these LAWMAKERS have . Its a generalized statement though but it has a basis because these " CONSTITUENTS " I am talking about are GENERALIZING themselves .

Now , if you can only show me that these lawmakers are NOT keeping in touch with the sentiments of the " constituents " then I would know and yield on the " constituents " every right to CRITICIZED . Afterall , I am not actually seeing any criticisms here but just mere CRAB MENTALITIES .

After that case , if someone can also tell me why the ANTI PLANKING LAW is a DUMB LAW or a LAW that should be set aside because there are better things to do then prove it to me why such LAW is subject for CRITICISM'S and MOCKERY .

And just like what I said , if people still are insisting how DUMB the LAW is , its not a RIGHT of these ARM CHAIR GENERALS on what to mandate like they really know all the bills being passed that waits for approval . Media ra man intawn ta kutob oi , we dont know what is really happening behind the camera and the unsung heroes behind these ordeals na sayunon ra nato ug kastigo . Mao bitaw kamo na lang pag sila .

If you're implying that the collective knee-jerk reaction here of the people in this thread is somehow "foolish" or "unfounded", then that is a matter of opinion. Again, it's their right as constituents.

Congressmen however, are expected to be subjected to harsher views. It's part of the territory and part of their job description as representatives.

Let's see. Using taxpayers money to ban planking, an activity that started out as a game, albeit not the best one in the world. Now why waste time to ban a form of legal self-expression, when there are other issues that need to be addressed?

Crab mentality? I see legitimate points. First page alone has them. Again, matter of opinion.

Besides, keeping in touch or not, taxpayers still have every right to express indignation or disappointment.

You're wrong. Every law-abiding and taxpaying citizen has EVERY right in the world to criticize the actions of representatives. Representatives represent the common interests of the people. Their legislative powers are to be used to carry out their constituents' interests, and not their own.

That is something the Greeks came up with a long time ago. It's called democracy.

Congressman...be comprehensive pud tawn oi sa imong paghunahuna. Okay ra nang mo propose ka ug ingun aning balaod kung sa imong lang panimalay. Pero sa nasudnon nga hisgutanan? Dako man nang pangutana sad tawn. Pero payter sad ka ug hunahuna dah...makalingu lingu sad ang uban nato ug makahimo man ta ug negatibo nga opinyon kabahin niani.

If this law will pass, NPA will grow....

Then when the shit hits the fan , dont blame the government , blame the " constituents " upfront attitude of negativity , indeed a typical Filipino . Puro banat , walay hunat .

Congressmen however, are expected to be subjected to harsher views. It's part of the territory and part of their job description as representatives.
Thats why a waiver was laid by me . That " on a brighter side " and a " I dont know the representative " statements was on hand to go in line with the people's mindset not to avoid BIASES but to established that there is really NONE .

Let's see. Using taxpayers money to ban planking, an activity that started out as a game, albeit not the best one in the world. Now why waste time to ban a form of legal self-expression, when there are other issues that need to be addressed?
You are still not getting the drift . Nobody cares about PLANKING because other than its ANNOYING , its FATAL but , daghan gihapon gagmayng utok ga cge ug patronize / practice ani . Do you know how many casualties are now in the books courtesy of PLANKING ? Do you know naay daghang oplok sa University of San Carlos ga cge ug PLANKING PLANKING and dili mo tagam ? Tell me what is so LEGAL SELF EXPRESSION about it .

Dont put the TAXPAYERS MONEY as a leverage lage . How did you know na ang ANTI PLAN KING LAW ra ang gi pass or gi draft ? Although yes mao ra na ang gi news because its not only sensational but albeit funny to some and here you are trying to say that lawmakers are wasting TAXPAYERS MONEY . bai .. passing a law needs a BASIS , committees composed of people na dili lang kutob sa forums ang knowledge attends this , the team of the reprsentative themselves votes on this and much more . Wala na siya gi himo ug overnight lang kay trip niya .

Crab mentality? I see legitimate points. First page alone has them. Again, matter of opinion.
I still doubt if you read the replies . basaha ug usab kaw .

Besides, keeping in touch or not, taxpayers still have every right to express indignation or disappointment.
That is present no matter what sector you belong to . Thats why I said ON A BRIGHTER SIDE . Did you even ponder on the BIGGER PICTURE and the BRIGHTER SIDE ?

If you read in between the lines and I do hope I wont keep repeating myself over and over again , have the " constituents " know first the laws passed by the representatives otherwise , KAMO NA LANG LAGE PAG SILA . It seems that KAMO has far more KNOWLEDGE running the country through making LAWS than SILA .

Pessimistic ra kaayo kadaghanan nato gud , murag unsya agi ra ba pod lol .

That is something the Greeks came up with a long time ago. It's called democracy.
Too bad , we cant really excercise the power of the FREEDOM of SPEECH because there is none .

    Unsay nakalahi sa :

JAYWALKING - ngano di man JAWCRAWLING ?
OVERSPEEDING - ngano di man OVERSLOWING ?
PTC for FIREARMS - ngano di man PTC for PENCILS or BALLPENS ?

And the list would go on and on .

That is because , a DEFINITION has to be established and so as these would not be subject for ABUSE and LOOPHOLES .
