Sorry to break this to you, but im assuming its not an iPOD. What did it come with? Maybe you can post a picture of it.
And about you deleting a file, i dont think so. It should come empty and if ever it did come with a file. Deleting it wont hurt your player in any way.
About formating, if your player shows up as a drive under my computer, you can right click and format it from there. Hope that helps.

try to browse the internet for the brand of your "MP4" player.... surely you will find some solutions to your problems. iPod has a website to help you if thats an iPod

i know that its not the apple ipod... syndicated lng xa... kanang ginabligya na barato...
huhuhuuh... i dnt know y it woldnt play anymoe... i just deleted all files in the music player... now it has seem to have delted all files including in fotos but then the memory says i have taken up 978mb.. but it wouldnt show... ang nagfunction lng kay ang radio... so i can format it again?? and then mabalik na xa?? kay basin if ako iformat ma delte jud tanan functions.... huhuhuhu
m so stupid ang nagbaligya d pa jud moreply nako... kaInis....
