Default Larry Merchant Provides Better Fight Than Ortiz

just wanna share this to you guys.. hehehe

Once again Floyd “Money” Mayweather has robbed us of a great boxing match.

Protect yourself at all times was Mayweather’s go to phrase, but honestly I wish I had protected my wallet after dishing out money to watch that waste of time.

The first few rounds of the fight were great and looked to be everything that it was hyped up to be, but at the end it all went downhill fast.

Ortiz had Mayweather backed up against the ropes and was him barraging with a constant flurry of punches. It looked like a good assault, but all of a sudden he seemed to propel his head forward in an apparent head-butt

Play was halted and Ortiz was docked points, and I can’t say I disagree with that call, but what happened after that I completely disagree with.

Ortiz seemed to be a good sport about his mistake and actually went to kiss Mayweather as an apology.

The match was reset and the two fighters went to hit gloves. Apparently Ortiz didn’t think the match had resumed, but by that time it was too late.

Mayweather went for the knockout shot and set Ortiz to the ground, and that was all she wrote.

Mayweather won the fight, but to be honest I don’t see how anybody could be satisfied with the way that it ended.

The most action we got to see was during Mayweather’s interview with HBO announcer Larry Merchant, who asked him about how the end of the fight transpired.

Mayweather was apparently not happy about Merchant never giving him a “fair shake” and he made it clear by telling Merchant that HBO needs to fire him.

It seems like Merchant had more fight in him than Mayweather displayed all night though, as he yelled back at the boxer and uttered the phrase that I’m sure will be famous from now on:

    “I wish I was 50 years younger and I’d kick your ***”

Perhaps HBO should have considered putting Merchant in the ring instead of Mayweather and maybe we would have gotten our money’s worth out of the fight.

It was a cheap shot at the end and everybody knew it, but when all is said and done Mayweather goes home the winner, and Ortiz goes away as the undisputed loser.

What looked to be was a great fight was ruined by Mayweather, who once again has taken away from the sport of boxing.

As sports fans maybe we should have seen this coming. Mayweather is known for his antics, so the fact that the fight ended this way shouldn’t have been that surprising.

It’s just disappointing that the best action we got tonight came from the announcer.

Moral of the story: Protect yourself at all times.

why is Mayweather only the one being blame here? Ortiz did a deliberate head butt w/c resulted in a cut in Mayweather's lips... and why you call this fight scripted cause Mayweather won? it's because you hate him and criticized every move he does. He's a great Fighter better open your eyes...
Ortiz is partly blamed for it but as good or great as Mayweather is, was the cheap shot necessary? The first left hook would have been ok to tell Ortiz to start the fight but he followed it up with the straight right..

the question really was, Was it necessary? Was it worth it to win a fight that way? Obviously for Mayweather it was yes coz he only cares about "W", saon nalang tong nipalit sa PPV.. it really turned off a lot of casual & hardcore fight fans...
