However, it is true, a Muslim woman is forbidden from a non-Muslim as he only believes in his prophet while Muslims believe in all of them (peace and blessings be upon them). Say the woman wants to teach her kids to love and respect all prophets but the husband disagrees and stops her from raising them the Islamic way. This may lead to marital problems.
The husband is the head of the household so he is more likely to teach his children about his religion. There are haram (forbidden) things for example: drinking alcohol. A Muslim woman doesn't want to see this and she especially wouldn't want her children to be around it.
As women, we may feel submissive towards our husbands (not in the bad sort of way). I went to marriage class with my fiance last night. The Imam said men and women are created equal but with natural differences (in our make up/characteristics). Men were created to have more physical strength while women were created to be the softer one and so the man's role is to protect his wife. So there lies a risk of a woman following her own religion, whatever it may be.
