    4th-3rd gear = 75km/h or less
    3rd-2nd gear = 50km/h or less
    2nd-1st gear = 30km/h or less

Engine braking will result in additional wear and tear of your engine. BUT it is much more safer than free wheeling. I'm always on gear whether I'm on the bike or in the car. The only time I depress the clutch or shift to neutral is when I'm almost stopped.

But still, I'd rather pay for the cost of an engine rebuild than an accident involving who knows what.
