try to get 1 sa FAMI for your MF. if you get it tell me. I might want to invest. I am not a starter. maybe some1 with a bit high net worth. but I need data to analyze.

Oh. case in point. I have to bring my mac to the bank, show them my calculations, to prove them wrong in computing my incentive (this is an addon to my regular deposit interest rate). The bank paid me the additional. so if the bank can be proved wrong because we have data, what about MFs.

    just my thoughts.
Naa koy report diri, pwdi ni nimu ma tanaw. SGV & Co ang nag external audit pud. Ngano wala man ka tagae sa imung bank? ang MF kay mu hatag man.
Naa koy report diri sa PhilEquity ug FAMI. (One of the biggest shareholder nag butang sa PhilEquity kay BPI), sa FAMI kay ang top 1 shareholder kay Catholic Education Association of the Philippines (CEAP). next ang Retirement Fund sa Metrobank). Pwdi ni nimu tanawon ako Annual Meeting sa stockholders.

True. I am only presenting other options. While you are pushing MF, I encourage people to invest directly. Either way, I believe I am helping people by letting them know of other options. Unlike you, I do not gain anything if they invest coz I am not connected with any financial institution or anything selling financial products.

There's a conflict of interest here.

I will not post much in this thread as what I say will affect your getting clients since I do not see it fair to post numbers that are unsubstantiated.
pwede ra ka mag start imong kaugalingon nga thread bai about stock investing ...or browse through the pages, daghan diha nga thread related to stock investing mas maayo didto ka mo share ....

MF external audit is a different report.

what they bought, how much, what price, when?, you need these to get the whole picture.

Numbers do not lie. I dont trust figures from MF where numbers dont have supporting data.

    just my thoughts bro.

i was just asking where MF get the numbers.

"confidential" or "the investor need not know where we invest" or "go to the XXX mutual fund, they have all the data you need" that would be a good answer to get rid of nosy investors.

it is not hard to notice bai this irk you have for people of img doing business here, they are business minded people as you are, and basically mf's are collection of stocks (that you are promoting) so i think it is imperative to create a friendly atmosphere for people in the mf's and stocks arena.

did I hit a nerve here? If my post irks you, you got something to hide? bring it to the open and let the istoryans decide. My thoughts might differ from yours, but hey, we are still in a free country. besides, beginning investors must know what happens if they really do lose money here. Just pray the market keeps going up so everybody happy.

I have nothing against IMG. it is just the people who responds to my post are somehow related to IMG.

MF worked for me and am happy with it. I got some of my MF through IMG and this thread was indeed helpful. I still see MF as a way for starters a feel on the investment world, at least you can start on 5K on these investments (MF, stocks or paper assets) but definitely not on real estate.

bitaw taga IMG (taga IMG ko sauna), ayaw pud tawn mo palabi oi. hehehe sometimes you wont notice nga super na kau mo nilaban sa usa ka company....one side nlang ang makita.

it would be best if mag transparent nlang...both sides ang ipakita aron clear gyud.

For most people, I don't think that where these mutual fund companies really invest their money matters a lot. What matters to them is that they get substantial gains. Getting 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50% is way better than settling for the interest given by savings accounts and time deposits. If these mutual fund companies earn more than 100% in a year and just give back a small part of it to the investors, that is still fair enough. After all, these investors have done nothing other than hand their money to these companies in order to make it grow. Don't assume that investing in the stock market is for everybody. It may give better returns than MFs but doing it wrong can also lead to significant losses.

It does. especially, on a down market and the NAV goes down, down, down. Even if the MF makes money, they can simply declare " hey, we lost money so our NAV is smaller". In the end, it is the investor who shells out the money. wake up.

Is there a way to verify MF's losses/mistakes?

@makie: are you also in the MF business? if yes, there is a conflict of interest. you're trying to make the MF as a surefire way of making money by getting investors; do you get a commission? management fee? service fee or whatever that's called?
