i played around with the prolink hurricane 5200 modem/router provided by globe today (kay perti mang hinaya, way lingaw ba). what i want to achieve is to use my existing SMC Barricade wireless router and use the prolink as a modem only (bridge mode). I'm a newbie into networking stuff pero mao ra ni akong gibuhat:
1. Access the modem configuration (
http://192.168.1.1/globe)
- karon, nangitag username/password ang ubang config (Network,Admin tabs, etc.). pero wala man ko
kabalo unsa so mao to akong gisulayan kung makasulod ba ko sa modem using FTP. dayon....
2. Open command prompt, type: ftp 192.168.1.1
- sus karon nangita na man sad username/password, gisulayan nako admin/password... wala migana.
akong gi-try user/user... sus kay nakasulod man ko. so akong gibuhat...
3. ftp> dir
- migawas tanang files... dayon, naa koy nakit-an nga config.xml ngad2. so akong gibuhat...
4. ftp> get config.xml
- ako dayon gi-locate ang file sa: C:\Documents and Settings\<user folder> unya ako dayon gi-open
ang file nga Config.xml. sus, naa ra diay ang username ug password ngad2 nabutang. bwahahaha!!
ang next nako gibuhat kay...
5. BACKUP current settings (Admin tab > Backup/Restore) then...
5. Remove WAN settings in Prolink Hurricane 5200 (Internet Interface tab) and...
6. Create new WAN settings as follows:
- encapsulation = LLC / bridge 1483
- VPI = 0
- VCI = 35
- click Add
- disable dhcp
- commit & reboot
7. In my SMC Barricade wireless router:
- access setup page
- select PPPoE
- enter username and password assigned by globe (xxxxx@visayas.globelines.com.ph / blah! blah!)
- apply settings and save
8. Connect Prolink to wireless router internet port. My pc to wireless router lan port. and...
9. Wallah!!!!! Bridge mode na!
