Somehow, I hate Christmas but not totally. I hate Christmas because it's the time of the year when Capitalists could take advantage of the consumers! And didn't I mentioned it is a marketing ploy? Ang mga negosyante ray nadato ana!

What I love bout Christmas, as what I said, is the paycheck. Plus the giveaways!

Just to let you know I still give presents during the holiday seasons. It has been, well, my tradition I should say.

Some are self made. Others, no choice, kenanglan jud mupalit, say, toys for the kids, clothes.

Simple stuffs but its the thought that counts. (Indirectly way of saying nga tihik jud ko)

I would love to go to the shelters of terminally ill patients. I'm not aware whether there's this kind of shelter for these patients in Cebu. I know there's one in Manila. My heart goes to these people as my mother was terminal before she died.

Let's address the question of this thread once and for all.

Kanang imong giingon nga 'Pagan Origin Of Christmas', it is not shocking at all. As early as the 4th century, nagsige na'g pagarpar ang mga anti-christians nga lagi kuno, gikan sa pagano kanang celebrasyon sa pasko.

In response, matud pa ni John Chrysostom (c. 349–407), the Archbishop of Constantinople:

But Our Lord, too, is born in the month of December . . . the eight before the calends of January [25 December] . . ., But they call it the 'Birthday of the Unconquered'. Who indeed is so unconquered as Our Lord . . .? Or, if they say that it is the birthday of the Sun, He is the Sun of Justice.

C'mon, TS. 2011 A.D. na ron. Karon pa ka nakabalo ana?

If the members of the pagan cult (Mithraism) worshipped the sun as god, ilaha pud na. Wa man siguro'y kristyano nga tarong og pangutok nga magtuwad2x atubang sa adlaw mata'g December 25. Kabalo man mi nga dili ang sun, KUNDILI si Jesus ang among gipahinungdan anang christmas.

Kun para sa mithraism, the sun is the god of light, para sa christianity, Jesus, the son of GOD is the light of the world. If the pagan once celebrated Dec. 25 as the triumph over physical darkness, christians celebrates Dec. 25 as the triumph over spiritual darkness.

Kanang pagkatawo ni Jesus, katumanan na sa gisulti sa Old Testament:

    Malachi 4:2
But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.
Matud pa ni Pope Leo I (5th century):

But this Nativity which is to be adored in heaven and on earth is suggested to us by no day more than this when, with the early light still shedding its rays on nature, there IS borne in upon our senses the brightness of this wondrous mystery.
