America is in the midst of economic mayhem , it's very unlikely both sides will reach an agreement anytime soon . Owners are losing money due to millions of dollars in operation cost . Variable expenses have risen lately ... fo shizzle they would have to add more money for the budget for rising cost in charter flights , food , lodging , management , marketing , and etc .. But who in their right state of mind would go to their employer and volunteer for a salary cut let alone a 60-40 split (in favor of the owners) from the current 57-43 (in favor of the players) of the BRI ?!
If they open their business with the same model , NBA is heading for bankruptcy . More Americans nowadays are losing their jobs , season-ticket holders are not renewing their seats because of the uncertainty of their jobs like everyone else . They'd rather use their free cash to pay for their mortgage .
NBA can survive the lockout since the more games to play = more money will lose anyways . Players will suffer knowing their paycheque is only until November . Okaaaay , players are heading overseas to play but leagues overseas (as per FIBA regulation) will ask for "Letter for Clearance" from these players' organizing body ... which is USA Basketball . Jerry Colangelo happens to be the big boss for the USA Basketball and also one of the NBA Board of Governors !!! To beat these players , would he give their demands to play elsewhere ??
NBA lockout is a sad event not just for the owners and local businesses in the NBA arena vicinity , fans as well... their hope turning into depression ... then insanity follows .
wa jud ko kasabot unsa na lockout.
unsaon pagka-resolve sa lockout, nga wala man gani sila nag-istorya. ingon to si fisher nga makig istorya kuno siya sa owners this month, mga 3 to 4 times... we are now at the middle of the month, and once pa sila nag istorya. and so far, sa last nila nga pag-istorya, layo pa gyud kaayo sila from an agreement. i doubt kung ma-diretso na ug ka-agree ang CBA just because ni-ubos ang economy sa US.
Here is the latest , courtesy of CBS sports:
Ken Berger of CBS Sports reported Friday that it is unlikely that the players and owners will meet again until September, which will mark just the second potentially substantive meeting of the lockout.
The players want to try and meet next week, but it sounds like the combination of David Stern's vacation and the owners' unwillingness to budge an inch have made a meeting unlikely. None of this is surprising, however, as we don't expect either side to budge until real money is on the line. The NBA lockout -- it's FANtastic.

Salbar na si Kris Humphries... Lockout pero Kim Kardashian ra bahala magpa lamoy niya...hehehehe swertehas amaw oi...![]()
Derek Fisher said the owners didn't change their stance on issues . I think they're taking baby steps on getting the deal done now . The owners are really firm on their decision to have a HARD CAP since the beginning so probably the players are waking up to the reality and agreeing on most of the terms offered by the owners .
We may have a season this year , but would not have enough time for FREE AGENCY PERIOD ,TRAINING CAMP and PRESEASON GAMES like they usually would have . But as long they will a season this year , it would be better than nothing .
