this is the perfect anime to recommend to the common people, labi na kanang di tigtanaw og anime. to break the notion that anime is for kids or its all about fighting.

For the last 2 months, I've been recommending Ano Hana to my friends, even the 'casual' anime viewers. For two reasons:

1. it's a good starting anime for newbies.
- Pacing is good enough even for non-anime fans. In a subtle way, Ano Hana can also introduce different types of fandom to 'newbie' viewers since Ano Hana has common anime character types anyone can easily appreciate, like: menma=loli, anaru=hot geek, tsuruko=megane, jintan=hiki... also Nokemon)

2. Main reason: It's fun observing people watching a tear jerker anime like Ano Hana. They hold back, but their watery eyes are very obvious. Sungogon dayon: "OI HILAK!!! AHAHAHAH!!!"

Although in retrospect, the last part got real cheesy with all the shouting and crying, kahilak gihapon ko ato haha. I guess i just really didn't want Menma to disappear.

As for the OP, it's really goood. And maayo kaayo mu timing ang ED song haha.

I've been recommending AnoHana to some of my club mates at school, too. Gamay ra nuon ang nakahuman jud (although a lot of them successfully finished Kuragehime).

Haha i was also expecting a love confession from Popo, too. Or something equally surprising, but not 'that' revelation. Hunong ko hilak gud, then padayon ra sad haha.

I'm not sure why i like Jintan and the Jintan x Menma pairing. (´・ω・｀)
Although there is this certain charm and spark from Yukiatsu and the Yukiatsu x Menma pairing that i like, too.

After watching Ano Hana several times (watched it again with friends/family. skipped some mid episodes, but I made sure to watch the 9th-11th episode completely), some parts do tend to get a little cheesy. However, my impression of the 11th episode still remains the same, specifically the hide-and-seek farewell. It’s such a beautiful scene. I still get choked up every time Jintan says “Mou ikkaiiii”. And I agree with people saying “everything was like a hide-and-seek game that started the day Menma died”.

Also, I don’t think badly of Jintan anymore. But he still can’t have Menma all to himself.
Manma x Menma - this counts as shoujo-ai, right?

Nah. I was thinking you were sympathizing with the foreveralone guy of the group. Alhough the Poppo x Anaru pair might work since they do have something in common - the weird and funny nicknames.
