Four of my mother's cousins were married to Germans.
The eldest incidentally met her German husband during a trip to Manila for the teacher's board in the early 80's. She befriended the German and were later married and they lived in Germany.
From then on, wanting to give her sisters a better life (they were poor and lived in the northern part of Cebu), she introduced her three sisters to their German friends.
Now all four of them have German husbands.
Indeed that gave them a prosperous life.
Last year, the sisters arranged a big celebration for the Golden Wedding Anniversary of their parents.
They all went home along with their husbands.
Fortunately, I was choosen to make the wedding invitations, misalettes, giveaways and DVD slideshow.
I haven't seen them before, but I managed to make friends with the two less "Hitler" looking husbands.
Our conversations later led to this German rock group they called Rammstein.
The band had been around since 1995, but because they were "banned" in the US, they were not so popular compared to some boybands out there.
Although my German friends told me this band gave an all out performance during their tours, I said to myself I can't possibly enjoy their music since I can't understand a single word in the lyrics.
But they insisted that I try to listen.
So after they went back home to Germany, they sent me Rammstein cds adnd the Live Aus Berlin DVD.
That surely changed my views about this band.
