DIY Front Panel Hard drive on/off switch for at least 5 HDD's?

about sa switch with light murag di na pwede magamit diri nga application sir kay usually single throw ra na mostly ang mga baligya, nya kung makasugat sad kag double throw mag conflict (7V) sad ang bulb (bati sad kay dili LED) mismo sa 12V ug 5V lines, kung gusto ka mag light butangi na lang ug LED nga naay resistor para naay indicator ang kada switch.

thanks sir... so let's say naa koy full modular na PSU, ok ra gamiton ang 2 ka molex connector in 1 modular cable as input sa circuit mo?

how about if ingon ani ako gamiton as input sa circuit mo?

kadyot lang... nalibog lagi ko bem? ako na notice sa switch ky ang 12v ra man (yellow wire)... then sa diagram ni KH0UJ the 5v (red wire) mag go through pa man sa switch... so pasabot ani 12v ra ang mag power on sa hard drive?

mga master, ngasubay ko ani inyo ideas bah, taking into consideration nga dli pwede i.toggle on/off ang hard disk kung on ang pc...why not modify ang design ni KHOUJ so that naay protection (using another relay circuit) nga dli pwede ma.on/off ang harddisk when ON ang CPU??

para nako, mas nice ang design ni KHOUJ with the use of individual relays for each HDD kay off tanan "live connections" (12V ug 5V) when off ang switch...pero costly xa...and to think nga imo ra i.toggle ang switch when the main power is OFF...so that means, wlay "sparking" sa internal contact sa switch which would worn out the contacts faster.

if ever ma.redesign ang circuit in such a way nga once a HDD is on and the CPU is already on, all the switches would be disabled to prevent accidental toggling of power, then the relays would be necessary...

all this are my two cents...am also planning for this set.up...hope maka.share ko dri ug design....

aw bantog ra diay... bitaw mas simple ni cya but mas cluttered ang cables kung ingon ani... mag himo na lang ko customized PCB layout para mahimo cya FULL modular ang device.


ako plan is 6 outputs molex KK series 4 pin connector MALE nka soldered sa PCB then mag custom made na lang ko daun molex KK series 4 pin female connector to sata connector for each hard drive na gamiton. at least if 3 hard drives ra naa nemo u can remove the rest of the cables

so instead na ordinary molex connector, ako na lang pulihan KK series para mas managable ang connectors and cables

Of course I know that I can only switch ON/OFF the hard drives when I power off the system, as this is to prevent data loss/corruption, but if there's another circuit that would disable the ON/OFF functionality if the system is currently ON then mas nice pa jud.

at least we already have an idea of the main circuit... kuwang na lang ni relay circuit para ma disable ang toggling sa power if the computer is ON... diri pako nag brainstorm... it's been 7 years since nag experiment ko sa relays katong college pko sa robotics and pag rewire sa ako headlights sa sakyanan nag involve pod relays... ako sa huna hunaon ang relay circuit ko para ma apply sa circuit ni KH0UJ

ako unta idea diri just to minimize wire / cable clutter and protection to accidental toggling ako gamiton is LOGIC GATES / RELAYS combination circuit. mas nindot pa jud if naay PIC microcontroller gni para mka less jud
