The definition of devil is a creature that does evil acts and push (tempt) the person to do such. As long as their is evil, there is a devil. On the other hand, the definition of angel is a creature that does good acts and push the person to do such. As long as their is goodness, there is an angel.
That "creature" is unseen. All visible things are not the only creature/things that exist. Love cannot be seen. It can only be seen when one express care to other people. The agent or "creature" who does that care is human himself.
Evil cannot be seen. Evil is not even innate in us because we are born not good and not bad. Evil can only be seen when one does harm to other people. We can call the source of that evil that make one do evil a devil. Though people can say that the source of evil is their need to do such, or from their society, there should be an invisible one that controls that society to continue doing evil acts. If there is no one, then that society should have stopped doing evil in an instant.
It is just like a person taking care of his dog. If the person stops feeding the dog, the dog will always seek for it from that person. If the person leaves that dog forever, that dog will find a way to other places to eat. If the dog cannot find any way, the dog will die.
The dog represent human beings. When there is no one to feed us, we will find a way to eat by seeking food from trees. If there are no trees, or any source of food, then we die. There should be an agent pushing the people to act. Conscience can be an agent. Fear can be an agent. Habit can be an agent. But who/what is the agent of conscience, fear, and habit? It is the other person making you such. But who/what is the agent of making that other person do as such, then it is the society. But who/what is the agent of the society doing such, blah blah blah... until we get to the point that we don't know that agent anymore. We call that agent an invisible being. The agent of goodness can be called an angel. The agent of evil can be called a devil. What is the agent of the angel and the devil? Perhaps, God? What is the agent of God? Perhaps another being?
The main point is that the world is so complicated that human beings cannot fathom. We don't even know what lies beyond the universe.
The implication is that, whether devils exist or not, let us do things that make us happy. Let us avoid happy acts that make us sad in the future. As simple thinking as we are, we can do great things.
