TS, there are basically two ideas in your title.These are: the importance of *** in a relationship and *** as a measurement of one's love. Since these sensible topics are different, let me address to them separately too. These are of course my humble opinions.

*** is important in relationship in such manner that the sun gives warmth and nourishment to all living creatures. It may not necessarily be always there but its presence surely makes a relationship hot:P.

To use *** as a unit of measurement, a quantifier, for love is a disjointed assumption. For while some places may not have the abundance or the warm and nourishment of sunlight, it doesn't necessarily follow that no living creature thrives there. Absence of *** is not parallel to the absence of love. It's the adaptation of nature that helps it somehow survive in a habitat it belongs.

In a relationship, it's the adaptation of one's commitment to love someone that's trivial in surviving any relationship and (to me) a true measure of loving. It's not always the presence of *** that make a relationship survive, but rather how we adapt to situations when such pleasure of the flesh is outcasted. For just like the sun, it's not the "hotness" that we need from it but the "warmth".

I never meant to use to word "measurement" as something we can use to quantify any aspect of s3x in love and loving. For I know very well, that love.. and physical act of union of lovers, is a bond in an emotion that is not quantifiable.

An analogy that would suffice at the moment, is that if Love was food, then s3x is the spice that gives more tang, more taste, more excitement.. and most of all, adds color to an already definition-defying emotion of Love that binds and bonds.
