one reason i could account that for is the lack of scope and limitation of the topic's supposed debate..

naturally, dri sa forum tanan taw mka dretso ra baya ug sabat.. bisan wala pa nka panguros.. hehe

nindot sd unta kung naa sd moderator/facilitator sa mga legitimate debatable issues such as RH bill, etc.. pero its too much to ask.. just a thought anyways..
Yes that could be one reason (1st sentence) , unfortunately since this is a free , open forum anyone can share their thoughts which is a good thing , it really depends on an individual to decide if the thoughts expressed are appropriate or not.

Although I really believe part of the negative side of debates we find in posts are partly due to our culture, especially Cebuano culture. To be fair i'll start with myself , until I learned other cultures , I thought if someone was being frank or told me what to do it meant an ill feeling , a sense of me going on the defense. I also noticed when we have folks from other parts both in this country and abroad we get a sense of being clannish even among Cebuanos (note I am not speaking on everyones account but what I have read and seen) , in fact one particular post I remember was a Greek or middle eastern man posted in istorya about why locals think all foreigners were american. Most of the posts seemed unwelcome , I could just imagine what this guy was thinking when one has to think it was a legitimate question. Point is the problem of fighting maybe cultural.

As for Moderator being a facilitator is interesting , I know some people may not want it to be a tad formal but maybe in a small capacity, in fact i've seen some mods facilitate to remind people of rules and back to topic but it would be interesting to make both parties engaged in a nice discussion. Food for thought ...

True .... inspight of the word hypocrite comes to mind (rephrased to be worldly) , you have a point.
I guess we know anyway by reading posts

This has been a nice exchange

I dont have a debate style. having a style is just like saying to learn the TRICKS of the TRADE rather than learning the Trade itself.
I simply stand by my claims or statement on a certain issue dignified by my sensible reasoning
    no style no tricks involved

I like this answer , cutting straight to topic, understanding it and sharing your thoughts , in other words a pure discussion without any BS.
