Hmmm...Yes, Constantine was a pagan before his conversion after the Battle of Milvian Bridge. And you think Constantine eschewed everything pagan after that?

Let's check the facts from history...

Constantine was a devotee of the sun cult when he was young. When he became a Christian, however, guess what symbols he continued putting in his newly minted coins for circulation? The pagan symbol of Sol Invictus ("The Invincible Sun").

You have to ask yourself why a Christian emperor would continue to mint coins with pagan symbols.

What else is there? Here's a quote from the book A Woman Rides the Beast by Dave Hunt:
While heading the Christian Church, [Roman Emperor] Constantine continued to head the pagan priesthood, to officiate at pagan celebrations, and to endow pagan temples even after he began to build Christian churches. As head of the pagan priesthood he was the Pontifex Maximus and needed a similar title as head of the Christian Church. The Christians honored him as ‘Bishop of Bishops’, while Constantine called himself ‘Vicarius Christi’, [that is,] Vicar of Christ.
Lastly (you can check your history books on this one), Constantine was not baptized until he was on his deathbed!

From page 743 of AP World History
Although this was common in the early Christian period, it still raises doubts in modern minds about the authenticity of the conversion.
What all these tells you is that you just can't simply rule out pagan influences in the development of early Christianity. There's just evidence galore out there.
