    naa ko nabasa nga comment:

I would like the government to place more stringent criteria for the hiring of Indian nationals for middle to higher management jobs. These are the jobs that Singaporeans desire which pay 10-20k and its all being taken away by Indians which i really doubt are qualified to do their jobs. They are there in association to managements as a form of politics and strategy to secure the boss' long term position.

My wife use to work for a top investment bank generating revenues >USD 3m. The bank, which needed the rescue funds of GIC in 2008 to survive the crisis, chopped half the people in her dept of which all were Singaporean to avoid paying bonus. She was jobless for 2 years interviewing hard with companies but all had Indian management filling the jobs. Needless to say, her previous job is filled by an Indian today and my wife is working with a local firm for less than half the pay.

All the major banks in Singapore have Indian management such as Citibank, Standard Chartered, RBS, UBS and now even DBS and Fullerton Capital. Once the Indian gets the top job, he will fill the entire management team with Indians and manage out the existing team. I used to be a 14 year banking veteran and I have seen it happen over and over again. Take a walk around One Raffles Quay and Marina Bay Financial Center and you will know what i mean.

These same Indians are coming to Singapore and having 2-3 babies and making this their temporary home as well! I know because both my tenants have babies...and lots of them!!!! Also bear in mind they have no plans for their sons to serve NS and they are not shy admitting it. It is evident they do not treat Singapore with the love and respect it deserves.

I would like to see more stringent controls in the government policies to protect Singapore from being long term victims of their own success. While it is true that we need to embrace globalization and evolve, we still need to protect Singaporeans. When companies need to fill a position, the first questions should be can a Singaporean do this job? Justify why we need an Indian national from University of Mumbai/ Kolkatta (or whatever crappy schools they come from)needs to fill this job. My wife graduated from NUS, I graduated from one of the top business schools in the US, sadly we are both no longer in the banking industry and its because of the government policies.

    Indian lage ang gi birahan...

Another problem that i saw with the huge influx of Pinoys here in SG is that there is also a huge influx of "pinoy trash" as the locals call it. Recently, amo ka-inuman and a housemate of a friend of mine was jailed, due to a "Recto" diploma. And to think, this guy has been working here in SG for 3 years on an EP before MOM was able to find out his credentials were fake. He would be spending time in prison before being deported back to PH with a lifetime ban in SG. Poor guy, he has a 2 year old daughter and wife to feed.

So to all those who are planning to find a job here - SG will NEVER tolerate FAKE DIPLOMA/CREDENTIALS!! The risk are far greater than the benefits, so take heed.

After the MP speech, expect SG to be less welcoming of FTs, S-Passes are now hardly ever issued, mostly sa ako mga kaila na nangapply puro rejected ila pass. Mas samot na ang EPs, this is certainly bad news to all aspiring to look for a job here.
