The second half of the country, all those who like superstition, mysticism and Pacquiao, and those who hate people nga sige'g "pilosopo" ug sige'g ininglis will live and work there. Their president, of course is Pacquiao (or maybe ANY of the Marcoses).

I'm really beginning to believe the words that a friend told me several months ago--nga daghan ra kaayong mga tawo sa Pilipinas nga sige'g reklamo, and ang irony kay kani ra ba sila nga sige'g reklamo ang ga-salig or dependent sa katong mga educated/learned (has the capacity to speak English or any other foreign language). For my friend, mga useless ni nga mga tawhana--I won't even elaborate here what he suggested should be done with this situation/problem, kay sure ko daghan dyud siguro ang mo-react negatively, and violently to his idea.

But this is precisely why the people need to be educated that certain kinds of "achievement" doesn't necessarily mean a person is fit to run the country. Ang problema man gud niani, is let's say niadto ka sa usa ka fiesta sa usa ka barangay, and while ga-inom, na-topic si Pacquiao, and you innocently enough (even though personally dili ka in favor kay Pacquiao as a politician) tell the barrio folk around you nga daghan ang achievements ni Pacquaio...so unsay resulta? Dako na dayon kaayo ang bilib nila kay Pacquiao tungod sa pamaagi sa imong pag istorya to them about Pacquiao--they developed a "hero" image in their heads nga lisod kaayo i-erase, so come election time, even though klaro kaayo nga daghan pa man unta diha ang mas capable to run for office, they will always remember that one day during fiesta nga nag inom mo and you told them what a great achiever Pacquiao is. This, unfortunately, is the sad saga and tragedy of the common Filipino--dali ra kaayo ma-convince sa mga ginagmay (and oftentimes wrong) nga notion, to the point nga mailad nuon. Ang bottom line, kinsa ma'y mo suffer in the end? Kitang tanan.
