Rather than focusing on the demand right now, better if you focus on the upcoming needs of the society. College courses takes on an average of 4-5 years. Focus where the society will be then.

Also take note that, employers always look for multiple talents in a candidate since minimum wage is getting higher and higher. Employers will want their employees who can multitask and can learn a skill or industry fast. Gone are the days of the phrases "it's not my job" or "it's not in my job description."

For example, IT or Computer-related courses. Undeniably, this is the future and this is where we will be. Mix it up with Business and/or Finance, you can have a Strategic Management position for this.

Health care, demographics put Philippines' population in the mid-20s. 5-10 years from now, these will be your future mothers and fathers with families. Each of which will require some form of medical attention and expertise. Hone your skills in health care and get recognized, you'll be definitely be in need as the population today matures. Or you can also mix it up with IT courses and prepare yourself to be one of the pioneering Bio-engineers (Nano technology sounds familiar?) that foreign research firms are starting to explore.

Tourism, ever got a feeling that Cebu is getting invade by foreigners? Admit it, there's no stopping globalization. Why not ride with it instead and make profit from it? Have a knack for adventure? Why not share your passion with the tourists?

Real Estate, tourism also brings a stead flow of foreign investors and retirees. Always plan ahead. Who knows that your forgotten-land-of-your-great-grandfather-somewhere-in-the-province will be the site of the next condo development? If you want to go into residential, always paint a picture of what that house could be. "Imagine this garden, full of flowers, with your kids running around chasing the dog.."
