Ikaw diays marc. Ni mention man to akong manghud na taga cu pd ka haha
Height: 5'8"
Current Weight: 179.5lbs
Age: 18
I started lifting weights on November of 2009. I thought doing bodybuilding splits would improve my basketball game, but what I found out was it just made me slower because I had muscles. These muscles were not "functional" muscles. The first 6 months were the obvious gains I got when I started these splits. Got nice shoulders and nice biceps(I was skinny before = 155lbs). After a couple of months, I got tired of stalling and I thought that looking good ain't everything. Yeah, you can walk the walk, but can you talk the talk? Nice body only gives you that, aesthetics and nothing more.
Some time last year, I discovered a strength training site. This website changed my life. It used to be something I do for fun, now it's a lifestyle. You can find it here (StrongLifts.com: Gain Strength And Muscle While Losing Fat). I found that there were too little exercises and that starting w/ the bar was simply stupid. Lifting 3x a week was not enough, I thought.. but I decided to try it anyway. What was I supposed to lose? Nothing. All I get is learning new things. Also the success stories there are legit!
Before I started doing the program, my stats were:
Age: 17
Weight: 155lbs
Squat: 20lbs + 25lbs bar = 45lbs ( I will include the bar weight, because that's how it's always been)
Bench: 65lbs
Deadlift: 0lbs
Shoulder press: 65lbs
Today my stats are:
BW: 179.5lbs
Squats: 325lbs
Deadlifts: 335lbs
Bench Press: 200lbs
Shoulder Press: 140lbs
People are now noticing that I've gotten bigger, and by bigger I mean football big! Not fat, not skinny. I feel great about myself, I felt weak and "small" before. But when I boosted my squat from 45lbs to 325lbs, I felt strong and big! I could now help my family kung mag pack sila, and I just feel stronger, faster and better than ever.
This community has helped me a lot to achieve my goals. They don't criticize, they only give good advice. This is a no bs, straight to the point community.
To those guys who want to be like bodybuilders, I'm sorry but you can't achieve that unless you give it full time attention. I got sick and tired of not meeting my expectations when my body didn't grow, but now that I only look forward to adding 5lbs to that bar, it has gotten me addicted!
Don't believe in Stronglifts and barbell compound movements>isolation. I'm living proof.
Here are my before and after pics: (back only, kay mao raman akong nasave)

P.S.: If you want to be strong, add more lbs to your weight. I don't care about BF, and I can care less if you call me fat. Even though I gained weight, I didn't lose my flexibility and agility.
Onwards and Upwards guys!
Mao pud ni ako gi buhat sa una bro, kai di man gud proportion ang muscles, labi na sa dominant side. If mas dako ang pikas, akong buhaton kai pun-an ug usa ka set para sa weak side. Hehe
Para sa atong lawas pero para sa mata sa uban bro.![]()
Mas cheaper jud bro if mag monthly ka. Ang kanang membership kai ka usa ra man sad ka mo bayad ana. I'd suggest you consult a trainer 1st. Unsai height ug weight nimo bro?
Nag kita na ta? Kinsa tong dakog paa na kusgan, ikaw or imo manghud? Hahaha.
Thanks for sharing bro! Great story. Very inspiring.![]()

So i started lifting around Summer of 2009 so i could lose weight and be thin for the first time in my life. That summer i lost around 35lbs of fat.. I was 110lbs... I looked at myself in the mirror and said.. I was too thin.. So i started to lift again. But this time.. For muscle! I was in the gym almost everyday giving my all... Did this for almost a year and seen no results.. Then i realized that i didn't have a solid nutritional plan. I was basically eating everything i want.. But still failing to create a caloric surplus. Thus.. I was 110lbs for a year! Yes thats right.. 1 year totally wasted for nothing.. SO i began reading more and more about fitness and nutrition.. And I again i began my journey on Nov 2010.. Since then i have gained around 25lbs of muscle... But have kept losing muscle due to sickness that would last for a week or 2. I am far from my goal (150lbs @ single digit bodyfat). But i knew from the start it wouldnt be easy... But i also know it would be damn worth it! Training is now a part of me. I can't live a week without training!
We all have to start somewhere.. I have..
Have you?
