"Where there is hatred, let us sow love"

    A PRAYER FOR LOVE

Teach me to love, Lord, as You love,
Make it unconditional, honest, and kind,
To ask nothing back in return, Lord,
To encompass the whole of mankind.

May I offer my love without speaking,
May it radiate as it shines forth from me,
May it be seen in my face and my eyes, Lord,
May it be simple, sincere, and shame free.

Show me how to forgive, Lord, as You do,
To not burden another with guilt,
To not play the role of the martyr,
To be a rock on which trust may be built.

Make my love for others be greater by far
Than any love that is offered to me,
Led by the Spirit, Inspired of God,
    As forgiving as Jesus...and free.

PRAYER FOR THE CHOICE OF A STATE OF LIFE

O my God, Thou who art the God of wisdom and of counsel,
Thou who readest in my heart the sincere will to please Thee alone,
and to govern myself with regard to my choice of a state of life,
    entirely in conformity with Thy most holy desire;

grant me, by the intercession of the most blessed Virgin, my Mother,
and of my holy patrons, especially of Saint Joseph and Saint Aloysius,
the grace to know what state I ought to choose, and when to embrace it,
so that in it I may be able to pursue and increase Thy glory,
work out my salvation, and merit that heavenly reward which
Thou hast promised to those who do Thy holy Will.
    Amen.

When you feel the world is tumbling down on you
And you have no one that you can hold on to
Just face the rising sun and you'll see hope
And there's no need to run
Lift up your hands to God
And He'll make you feel alright

    Fault, Forgiveness & Love
"A disciple of Christ will never treat anyone badly. Error he will call error, but the person in error he will correct with kindness. Otherwise he will not be able to help him, to sanctify him" (St. J. Escriva, "Friends of God", 9).

    Forgiveness=Love
Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. Galatians 6:1

Don't be deceived, my dear brothers. James 1:16

"If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. Matthew 18:15

Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 2 Timothy 2:25

Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother. 2 Thessalonians 3:15

Let a righteous man strike me--it is a kindness; let him rebuke me--it is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it. Yet my prayer is ever against the deeds of evildoers; Psalm 141:5

Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man and he will love you. Proverbs 9:8

The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:1 Corinthians 2:15

Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly--mere infants in Christ.1 Corinthians 3:1

Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.2 Corinthians 2:7

I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him.2 Corinthians 2:8

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.Ephesians 4:32

Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.Colossians 3:13

or if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.Matthew 6:14 F

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children Ephesians 5:1

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.Colossians 3:12

Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.1 Thessalonians 4:1

Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.1 Peter 3:8

Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.
    2 Corinthians 13:11

    AMEN!

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance.
    Jude 1:2

    DEFINITION OF HUMILITY
Bible translators use humble to render several Hebrew words. One, anah, means “to look down, to abase
oneself, to afflict and chasten, to deal harshly, and to weaken.” King David expressed humility of soul by
wearing sackcloth and by fasting: “My clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting”
    (Ps. 35:13).
Another Hebrew word for humble is kana, which means “to bend the knee, bring into subordination, to
subdue.” God used this word in II Chronicles 7:14; “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face…then will I hear from heaven.”

    REWARDS OF HUMILITY
The greatest reward of humility is becoming like the Lord Jesus Christ. He identified Himself as “meek and
lowly in heart.” The word lowly means “not rising far from the ground, brought low with grief, low in spirit, of low degree.”
Other rewards of humility include what every person longs for—true riches, high honor, and abundant life. “By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life” (Prov. 22:4).

    SPECIFIC WAYS TO HUMBLE OURSELVES

    1. Welcome critics—bless those who curse
    you.
    2. Volunteer for menial tasks.
    3. Ask others to show you blind spots in your
    life.
    4. Express gratefulness.
    5. Listen to others instead of talking about
    yourself.
    6. Kneel in prayer.
    7. Let authorities make final decisions.
    8. Ask forgiveness for wrongs you have done.
    9. Praise and honor others.
    10. Take time for prayer and fasting.
    11. Give sacrificially.
    12. Give testimony of God’s grace.
    13. Deflect praise.
    14. Be a servant. The best test of whether or not
we view ourselves as servants is how we
    respond when treated like one.

    HOW HUMBLE ARE YOU?
o When people disagree with you, do you argue for your position?
o Do you tend to cut off those who ignore you?
o Are you hurt when those you dislike are honored?
o Do you find it difficult to admit you are wrong?
o Do you inwardly react when people criticize you?
o Do you give your opinions before being asked for them?
o Do you enjoy sharing about your accomplishments?
o Do you talk more than you listen?
o Are you more concerned about your reputation or God’s?
o Do you give the impression that you have no problems?
o Do you seek ways to humble yourself?
o Do you do things for praise and compliments?
o Do you accept praise rather than deflecting it?
o Are you quick to correct others when they make mistakes?
o Do you react when you do not receive credit you are due?
    o Do you feel important?
o Do you compare yourself to others rather than God?

    A Missionary's prayer

Jesus, Lord, please hear my prayer
As I serve Thee far from home
Make me willing no matter where
To make Thy great love known

Let me have a soul aflame
    Kindled by Thy altar’s fire
    Living only for Thy name
    Obeying Lord, all Thy desire

May I in Thy love abide
    And on Thy bosom rest
    All my self-love crucified
    That Thou be manifest

May I seek an eternal crown
Fix my gaze on Heaven’s shore
    Nothing earthly weighing down
    My zeal for Thee anymore

Here I give my wounded heart
My sinful self bowed at your feet
    You know every lacking part
Mold me, make my life complete

And as I struggle on my way
May Thy grace shine down on me
    Lord, please use me anyway
As I live and work for Thee

    on Faith

We live by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? Romans 8:24

By faith - In the belief of those things which we do not see. We believe in the existence of objects which are invisible, and we are influenced by them. To walk by faith, is to live in the confident expectation of things that are to come; in the belief of the existence of unseen realities; and suffering them to influence us as if they were seen. The people of this world are influenced by the things that are seen. They live for wealth, honor, splendor, praise, for the objects which this world can furnish, and as if there were nothing which is unseen, or as if they ought not to be influenced by the things which are unseen.

The Christian, on the contrary, has a firm conviction of the reality of the glories of heaven; of the fact that the Redeemer is there; of the fact that there is a crown of glory; and he lives, and acts as if that were all real, and as if he saw it all. The simple account of faith, and of living by faith is, that we live and act as if these things were true, and suffer them to make an impression on our mind according to their real nature
