I wasn't expecting much when i started watching it because it may just have the typical shounen formula. But after watching a few episodes, it DID have the typical shounen formula, seeing that it is shounen, but it's surprisingly entertaining and it's not painful to watch. Most shounen would have the main character with something special in him (son of Satan, check), painful past (discriminated by everyone, and then Shiro.. err left, check), resolve his ultimate life goal (defeat Satan, check), goes to a journey to improve self and finish life goal (goes to school while training to be an exorcist, check). But even though it is quite typical, it feels just right (although there are cringe moments when its shounen-ness shows). Rin isn't a bad main character, too. And indeed, the OST is surprisingly really good.

With the direction the anime is going (cracked sword and all), i think the anime will have a mini filler arc soon and end at that (original anime ending). The manga isn't that far, so they probably would stop for a while or continue with a new season with anime-only plot.

LOL im not too critical with animes..i watch it purely for entertainment. And these kinds of story lines catch my eye. that's probably the reason why i was addicted to full metal alchemist and D.Gray man.

But true, it DOES have that typical shounen plot.. but its entertaining! bahahah.. i mean.. the son of satan? cool... the first thing i thought when i watched the first episode was:

"......................how the heck did satan screw a human!!!"

I apologize if it sounded too critical. When you've been anticipating new batches of these babies per season for ages now, you can't help but be too critical. Don't get me wrong, i watch it for entertainment, although it has evolved into something obsessive. But time is of the essence, and most of the time i do not wish to waste it on something that isn't my cup of tea haha. I felt i had to post my two cents about it. orz

He is Satan after all lol. Screwing a human is amongst the things an evil incarnate can do. Haha. I take it he'd have a smashing look, too. ;D

I'm still hoping they'd bring back Eyebrow's friend, the normal girl ("futsuu tte iu na"). Her simple design was refreshing. She even had less details than some background characters lol.
