well, usually ma mokong rako sa una if wala koy kwarta.

Pero once, I really tried this. I was going to work at that morning, I left my wallet at home and in my pocket are just coins barely enough for a jeepney fare going to Colon. When I arrived at downtown, I was shocked when I found out that I didn't bring my wallet with me.

In a defiance of shame, I approached a street vendor near chowking. I presented my company ID and introduced myself as an Engineer working in MEPZ. I told her that I left my money at home, and asked her if she will be kind enough to lend me 20 pesos for jeepney fare going to work and promised to pay her at the end of the day. She gave me the money unconditionally, but I returned on that evening and paid her eventually...

Why walk when you can just ride a jeepney and not pay? Haha. I did this once in college. I thought I still had enough left but I had I used up all my cash in buying groceries. So what I did was I sat near the konduktor so I'd be the one to give him other passengers' fare. Hehe.
